Happy with network but their Data costs should change....way too expensive

I could write a book about this useless lot at Vodacom, every encounter I have with them ends up in some sort of problem, you cannot rely on what they say and their Supervisors will never speak to you. I cant wait until ICASA gets them around the throat ....but thats probably just wishful thinking on my part.

Very good network, I've been with them for over 10 years. Down side is the data charges, and also the data gets used up very fast? But im mostly at home so use fibre for everything. I dont make alot of calls so cant rate there. Network is very good. Call centres are a nightmare, in store have only issues in the northgate branch. Best service recieved so far is cresta, and we always goes back there for our upgrades.

I take it most here are NOT VC subscribers, otherwise you'd vote with your wallets?
When I was with them - good data and call reception.

But oob no value data made me move.

The signal is good and strong everywhere I travel. The app makes buying extra data a breeze. Are expensive compared to the other mobile operators.

When you have issues with your statement or something is wrong on your account though, the service is lacking and downright discussing. Call centre lady told me that Vodacom does not make mistakes!

Expensive, but you generally get what you pay for. Signal is good and customer service is good. Would like to see their data prices at least match Telkom though.

Interesting how similar the voting is between Vodacom and Cell C.

The answer is dual SIM my friend, use the Vodacom sim so you can have good call quality, then get another SIM for whoever sells data the cheapest.
I am doing that on a pay as you go fashion now, works out cheaper than paying a contract and I get the best of both worlds.

Yeah same here. Cell C for data and the handset on Vodacom only for calls. Free wifi is also everywhere I go.

Signal overall not bad but the service is appalling, don't know why they have an on line "chat" portal, as you are still typing the message sends incomplete. Yet to find a store where the staff are helpful and competent.

Just dropped Vodacom and didnt think I needed to before I did, but now Im thankful that I did. The spam SMS's have literally stopped! Lots of incorrect billing, being charged for services I didnt get or ask for and the high price of out of bundle data is just a joke. bye bye vodacom..

• Coverage is good in urban areas generally
• Service and support is pathetic (in person or electronically)
• Second time they have increased my monthly fees mid way through my contract. Whats the point of signing a contract between two parties if one can just increase the fees and reduce the benefits and the other party has no say in it?

Prepaid customer: Absolutely happy with reception, data speed and national coverage. I would rather pay more for a good service. However, Vodacom can improve on price of voice and data and also roaming agreements.

This is a copy of an email I've send Vodacom on Tuesday. The call center agent promised me (for about the 60th time) this girl, named Kelly Phillips, will come back to me the same day. Nothing happened. This is now going on for 4 months. Previously Vodacom created fraudulent contract under my name and it took me more than three months to sort that out. Pathetic.

Kelly. You should know all about this upgrade.
I tried to upgrade my contract on the 11-05-2018. First they send me a faulty phone and after about a month they send me the same phone back. Then this nightmare started allover again.I made more than 50 calls to Vodacom online without any success. To make a long story short; On 11-06-2018 you called me with an offer that will compensate me for my inconvenience. (see attachment) I recorded the call.
1. A Samsung J7 prime. as
2. U Choose 120.
3. 1 gig data pm (24 months).
4. First month's (July) subs free.
5. No admin fee.
6. Subs R 149 pm.
I asked you to confirm this by email. you never did. It seems to me you never gave this through to your admin. Your collections dep. started calling me in August to tell me that I'm in arrears with R 514. They know nothing about our arrangement. Your acc. dep. bills me R 222 for subs instead of R 158 (R 149 + R 9 caller id.) I skipped July as the first month. I refused to pay and they suspended both my lines after I asked them to sort this out with you since they didn't believe me. They also send me an account statement invoice (attached) that doesn't make any sense to me and I'm an accountant. It seems that they billed me for the the old handset to.
I made more than 80 calls in total and I'm totally "gatvol" now. Sorry for the word but I think I was very patient and civil with all the the people up till now, considering the poor service.
Kelly you better sort this mess out now. I left several messages for you (5 the last 10 days) and you ignored it.

The network is generally great , as for the billing and activation they are a bunch of palookas , if it is straight forward on off situation things work with their billing and activation , any thing out of the ordinary they are useless .

Better service than my Telkom data contract which is value for money as long as you don't have a problem

Been with them for many years, and never had any issues. As for the Vodacom shops in the malls, they seriously need to step up their game. Service is just plain awful.
