I assume you are using 100Mbps? Isat has the 100Mbps line only for R599 and 200Mbps for R829. Although I have only recently started using it on my Openserve fibre line it's been available for ages. Shared it with someone that has a fibre line for a while so yeah I doubt they will stop it unless they specifically start blocking B numbers for connecting to it which is very unlikely.

IF that happens you just get a capped account from Axxess, Cybersmart or as a last resort Afrihost or Openweb. You will still be saving lots of money and they all have uncapped between midnight and 6am except for Cybersmart that only offers 1TB of afterhours data.

Yes, I am on 100Mbps. I also quickly checked out Isat now and they are really cheap.

Do you perhaps know what the R1438 setup fee consists of for Vox?
I already paid that upfront. If I move my line rental over to Isat will I then have to pay some sort of setup fee again with Isat or not?

I am quite new to this fibre thing unfortunately.

I'm guessing the setup fee with Vox was for installation/activation and setup fee with Vox. If you let Vox move your line to the Openserve holding pool then you usually just pay an Activation fee which Isat will probably charge too. Some ISP's waive the activation fee but with line only migrations they don't always do that. There is also Infogro that charges R479 for a 40GB capped account and a 100Mbps fibre line. Lots of cheap fibre line deals you just need to know where to look. Openserve is so nice because changing ISP's is just a usename and password change away so you can always have the line somewhere and then buy accounts where you want your data.

I wonder how they can offer a 100 meg line at such a low price. What's the catch?

I think the catch is that 100mbps for R599 is for line rental only, and you would still have to pay somebody for data. I am open to correction.

VOX currently have a special running in my area (Durban North) but I am very concerned about the many negative reports here about VOX after sales service. After all the s*** I am having with telkom, I don't want to go down that road again. I have to go through their 4 pages of T&C's, but is their after sales any worse than Telkom's or other ISP's?
