Please recommend a vacuum cleaner

I know you said budget, but if you don't have super thick carpets or very hair pets, I would rather get a cordless one. It won't have as much suction power, but you will clean much more often if you can just grab it and spend 2 minutes speed cleaning a room.
I have tile floors. Also no furry animals.

just remember the smaller karcher machines bags are around R50 per bag in packets of 5 or 6 so around R280 per set ,reason why i dumped mine and the round filter is moer expensive and not washable ,converted a bennet washable filter for mine while i was still using it ,it also schreeches while using it ,not a very quite machine .
I did a quick google search, it seems the WD3 filters are washable and reusable.

Is Kärcher WD3 filter washable?

300/WD3. 500. Washable and Reusable. Replace filter every 6 months. From Google.

This.

Take the numatic redpill. They are the best vacuums by far.

I'm confused.

Does Henry fit inside James?

This does not appear to be a vacuum for straight people.

washed mine once ,its a sort of paper composite thing ,first one fell apart after washing ,second one i put a prefilter bag from Ryobi over it but it stifles it a bit .@R300 per pleated filter it gets a bit rough ,bagless is the only way to go.

Shees, we have a Miele Complete C3 we have had for years, brought it to the US with us and it's worked here for 4 years (on lower power 110W) with no issues.

Looked at the price of them now - WOW, I don't remember paying that kind of price!
Yeah, bought mine on sale this year for 6.5k. Definitely worth the monz though. I have read people have kept theirs for years without issues.

I bought my mom a Karcher for like a 3rd of the price and she seems happy with it. So, OP should opt for Karcher if the budget is tight. Pro tip don't skimp on a vacuum. You will regret it.

Got my Karcher in 2010 I think. Haven't skipped a beat.

My budget is about R1400. So :

Looks like it will make the grade. The only thing I don't know is how regularly I would need to replace filters? Or bags? Sorry I've never owned a vacuum cleaner before. :)

I believe the filters are quite pricey. I have a small 50 square meter 2 bedroom apartment, so I don't know if this is something I even need to be concerned about.

yes .my brother used to sell them

My first job was selling Kirby machines. I didn't sell many :D Retail back then (22 years ago) was R13000. Good luck trying to convince people to spend that kind of money. 99% had to by on credit, and after 36-48 months that R13000 becomes something closer to R20k. I did end up selling to neighbors and a few friends though. I remember fondly of the days I had to demo the machines in Grassy Park. Made tons of "sales" in Grassy Park but every single credit application failed because of bad credit history. :( So no sales.
