Plugg ISP.

Luxe downloaded+uploaded less than 15GB in total - so we can't rule out the rolling window shaping effect yet...

Hmmm. I just need an ISP that can handle between 50 - 80GB per month without throttling the hell out of you.

I see the 4mb uncapped is now R499....wasn't it slightly cheaper last week...?

Sent them an email during the week with some questions and still no reply  Not a promising start.

Afrihost's IS based uncapped is R475, but they'll throttle you. So I'm on a 50GB package which gives me full speed all the time ... until I reach the cap.

So for everyone who is with this ISP.... What is the verdict...? Yay or nay...?

And how much have you guys downloaded on average pm...? Please PM me if you aren't comfortable posting in this thread :)

The shaping policy kicks in at 40 GB = R 12.23 / GB

No dream is too high for those with their eyes on the sky. - It seems so!

How IS / Discovery can allow these idiots to run their client interface astounds me, they can't even seem to get the recipient's name right.

Have a look at all the errors on their websites; Digitalise.com | DSG.co.za

What is DSG?

Btw, I am very happy with plugg. Always full download line speed, and I have not experienced any shaping, even after 20GB in a weekend.

Eish luxe.... :D You dont work for them hey...? :p What do you average pm on downloads...?

Heh no, I work in FMCG :)

I am over my " download the internet" phase, I tried MWEB for that, hence why I am now with Plugg.

I guess I am between 40 - 60gb a month nowadays, a few steam games, movies and updates. I am in no way doing the 100gb+ I used to aim for, but as I said, for my needs, Plugg is perfect.

Im the same which is why im asking. Sub 80gb would be more than enough for me.

I can get my logs for you when i get home, I can't remember my login lol.

I'll pm you when I get em.

DSG is the BEE company that facilitates the Client Service interface on behalf of Internet Solutions for Plugg, Discovery, etc. "Digital Solutions Group is an outsource partner for multi-channel commerce and relationship marketing."

As for the IS Uncapped account, they only offer upto 4 Mbps, semi-shaped connections and "shaping" (throttling) is employed at the 40 GB threshold as per the email of Tshepo above.

I think they work on that 10 day rolling threshold, so you need to pull 40g in 10 days perhaps?

I have downloaded more than 40gb and I have not been shaped in the least.

I also have my doubts about DSG and your claims. I purchased my connection through their website, and customer service was IS Customer Service?
