Plugg Uncapped ADSL Feedback

I have no complaints thus far. I was quite surprised that I'm getting close to line speed from NZB's and torrents during the daytime. It's nice being able to pull large amounts of data WHEN you need it, without having to split it into after hours downloads. For example I did about 50 gigs in the first 3 days of the month. I haven't done much after that, but it's nice getting things done when you need it :)

I recently tried your test account and did a ping test to 1 local and 1 int website.

Maybe you can explain this.

My current internet account on the first result/hop for instance:

BBC:
My account: 206ms
PLuGG: 176ms
the following hops/pings were the same

MTN:
My account: 86ms
Plugg: 46ms

Im just curious as to why my current accounts first hop is high and the rest the same :P

Good results from plug tho

The first result is your router, the second your local exchange. I'm assuming you are referring to a trace route?

Post the full results so someone can take a look at it.

Ive been on a PLUGG trial account for a few days now... Nothing to complain about. Moving my 10meg line at work away from telkom at month end... Will pick either plugg or mweb..

Been on Plugg for over a month now. Nothing to complain about - awesome performance and stability. Very happy!

PS: Also a bonus about the 1GB free Wifi at AlwaysOn hotspots.

Howdy!

Do your uncapped accounts have gaming prioritized?

All ports are equal (yes, we do not discriminate against any port ;-) until such time that your account's network priority drops because of high usage. I've explained the FUP before, but just in case, you can refer to the following post of mine:

Although I've yet to experience any real "throttling"... My ping (both local and int.) for gaming has been phenomenal on my 4mb Uncapped account.

Better than when Afrihost was on IS in fact.

Howdy!

Consider yourself having a new client on 1st jan :)

At this point I wouldn't go back to MWEB if you paid me :/. FWIW, we tried the Plugg trial account for a few days and were pretty happy with it. (Am currently on Afrihost 50GB/month account, also happy with that, but definitely considering Plugg uncapped instead.)

I am really interested in getting an account with plugg. I have a few questions though:

1) Is Gaming Prioritized!
2) Do you have a "calendar month cancellation policy"?
3) Do you think as they get more customers the service will deteriorate?

Howdy,

I am really interested in getting an account with plugg. I have a few questions though:

1) Is Gaming Prioritized!

2) Do you have a "calendar month cancellation policy"?

3) Do you think as they get more customers the service will deteriorate?

I can assure you that the network gurus keep an eye on the network and plan wrt additional bandwidth; but I am just a Janitor, so the easiest way to test this, is to join Plugg Connect ;-)

Janitor, how long will this promotion run for?

I'm battling Mweb to get my account canceled for January.

What promotion is this?

Edit: Nvm, thought those were the normal prices for the 4/10 mbit accounts :(
