I'm seeing a lot of complaints on the new tracker. Hope Niantic decides to roll it back before it hits SA.

Finally caught a Ditto, it's only 10cp but at least I have it registered to my Pokedex. Does anyone have a link about how the gym battle system works on Pokemon changing their CP?

I also found out that the Pokemon Go event in Japan was sponsored by the Tohoku goverment:

10,000,000 JPY (~$93,000) for launching and holding the event itself.
15,000,000 JPY (~$140,000) in advertisment costs, pokestops maps, tours.
5,000,000 JPY (~$47,000) for "Niantic's system update".

So I doubt we will get one unless there's a push from us Pokemon Go players to get something like a Rhyhorn/Rhydon event

I must say the game as it stands now is what I was hoping it would be when it was first released.

whats wrong with the current event?
for me, farming startdust like a boss is better than candies.

I have run out of startdust a few times because I have so many pokemon I try and keep in gyms. so every time I level up I spend all the startdust.

then suddenly I had a bunch of Rhydon that needed attention rather than Arcanine...

The current event is great, as was Halloween. I am just wondering what they will do for Christmas.

Did you guys follow the Japan Lapras Event?

I followed some youtubers that Nic From trianer trips spoke about, and I read a lot about it on reddit, but that is it.

still wondering what pokemon to sugjest to SA tourism for an even here. I have a contact quite high up, but I want to give her all the info, and a perfect sugjestion.

Snorlax?
Dragonite?
I dont think Niantic will allow those.

so what else?
Licketung?
Koffin?
Grimer?
Hitmon lee/Chan?
Chansey?

those are the only rare pokemon I can think of.
a Rhydon/ Rhyhorn even would be really fitting, but its not rare enough tbh.
Onix is terrible, no one would travel for that.

maybe the ideal would be to hope Miltank is in the same bracket as the above pokemon, and we can get that one as an event.

Guess they can add Rhyperior. Its what Rhydon, Rhyhorn evolves to as a final stage..

Problem is it is Generation 4? but i guess they could make it an evolve that only happens in Africa via item drop or something? :D

No one said it has to be one Pokemon. A better idea would be have a safari event in South Africa. Like in the original game I remember they were Pokemon you were likely to find in safari versus in the wild, like Pikachu. Including Pikachu it can be the starter Pokemon, and they evolved forms. Also, if I remember correctly Snorlax caught in safaris use to have extra items (so maybe double candy for Snorlax's)

Theres still the legendary Pokemon, and Mew/Mewtwo. Remember the Pokemon Go trailer had a count down for Mewtwo & everyone gathered in a central area. That's a possibility.

Also be sure to give her the numbers on how many people possibly traveled there just for the event. They are a ton of pictures online on how packed the streets were.

Africa needs an exclusive Pokemon... that would be nice.
