I'm already rocking my magicarp hat this morning.

Also caught the following:

Several magicarp, a slowpoke and a tentacool - all of which I normally hardly ever see.

Caught things this morning on my walk from the car to the office I never see so event is great for me, apart from the fact that I got my first Gyarados on Sunday after walking almost 200km with a hatched magikarp

@Baxteen also in a desert Biome, actually the same one as you, see you in the gyms all the time but cant be bothered to take them down anymore!

Caught some Seel, Mantine, Magikarp, Omanyte. All of these are much more common in the East Rand area. Need Magikarp to get my Gyarados.

Also, I see the news on Pokemon Go app says you'll get a guaranteed evo item on your 7 day pokestop streak:D

so last night we went to the Robirtson's Bird Sanctuary in Brooklyn.
we got our timing spot on and logged in at 22:01.

My wife has been walking a carp for 296KM.
3 seel (now she has a Dewagong)
loads of Mareep, Polywhirl, Whooper, Goldeen, slowpoke,Psyduck

got a decent amount of Carp (she finally has a Gyrados) even a few Mantine and Todadile and Chinchou.

then the best part of the evening.

we hung around for quite a while, at 23:10 we logged out of Pokemon go.
at 23:45 we logged back in, she dropped a lucky egg.
we did a slow drive though the suburban streets of Brooklyn, hitting the pokestops and counting together.
when we got to the 9th stop we waited.
at 00:01 we both spun our 10th stop. making it our 7 day streak, 10th pokestop.
she got 7200 XP, an evo item (we downloaded the APK before we went out)

on the drive home I did some evololutions for her. a bunch of new gen 2 evolutions she was holding off on, the Seel, Carp and a bunch of pidgey and Ratata.

she is spitting distance from level 29 now.

when we got home, I read about the Shiny carps.
suddenly feel bad for her, she should have waited to evolve the gyrados.

maybe she will get lucky and get another 400 candies during this event.

I have 4 Gyarados (had 7) will gladly swap 2 or 3 for one Snorlax.

I have 17 Arcanine (had 26) and 683 Growlith Candies.
I also have 18 Rhydon ( no idea how many horn attack ones I have transfered)

I would gladly swap some of those for Psyduck/Starme/Bellsprout. or even Dratini. when I get 2 more 10K eggs I will make a nice little video when they are about to hatch. showing I have walked my Dragonair for 307.4KM in order to evolve it (still need 23 candy). also, 2 of those eggs are from before baby pokemon were introduced, so my chances of getting 10 dratini out of the hatches are quite small.

different Biomes for different people.

Ps on the dratini note, it used to be the case but i hatched 5 in the last month, getting 25 odd candies each i might add, FINALLY getting enough candy for my 100% Dragonite. Your odds are actually looking better to hatch a dratini these days. According to the new "secret" egg tiers, your chances of hatching a nidoran/paras are actually the same as a dratini...thats now if you can get those 10km eggs

Come on holiday to CT. I'm so sick of PSyduck + Starmie. Also caught a lot of bell spout but they are worth it.

I would rather skip CT thanks. mother lives there and 1400KM is not enough...

and yes systemofpurplelimpminion I was referring to the new Egg rarity info. not going to stop walking the dragonair becuse I have a better chance though. when I have the candies, I will change.

as a side note guys. if you want to work as a team to get an enemy gym up to a high level really quick (that is not bubblestrat)
put your highest ditto in the gym, ideally something along the level 30 range.
set up your team so a +- 1000CP snorlax OR Wigglytuff is your first attacker, make sure nothing is higher CP that the first attacker.

Battle Ditto.
Ditto becomes level 30 snorlax (2600CP ish) with the same HP as the Ditto (+- 70ish)
easy 1000 prestiege, keep leveling the gym until level 10 between 3 or 4 people this should take about 10 min, then add pokemon

Same thing happened to me... I walked him to 90 candies then hatched an egg. I wonder if thats a thing now... its definitely a good idea to walk what you want to hatch.

"you might even encounter Lapras" in the press release...

SO just caught one at her office in Centurion 700 odd CP, in a desert biome, so they are out there.

Oak Ave, the biggest parking area there is with solar panels, I am sure you can guess the company name.

Apparently it was only there for a very short period as the others playing at her work did not get it.

it gives me hope at least.

I have one, but I hatched it before I was level 20 so it has super low CP. never seen one in the wild.

and honestly I have no idea how far away from me that is.

I have run out of the office for 2 pokemon when there were still working scanners.
a Snorlax that was behind the News cafe.
and a dragonite that was 700m up the road, behind the shell on the corner of Jean and Lenchin.

I got the SNorlax, the dragonite ran from me.

is she using a scanner app called pokehuntr by any chance?

it scans the area and stores the info on a DB, so when someone else logs in, looking in the same area, they can see the spawns...
