No scanner app, just in the right place at the right time. I went to botanical yesterday afternoon for an hour or so, nothing special looks like a Caterpie nest.

it was a Kabuto nest, I did not know a migration occured? and wiht all the water spawns right now any place wiht high spawn rate will be good.

Anyone got a shiny magicarp yet??

It's a 1 in 8000 chance, so even with the current spawn rates, chances are slim...but i'm doing my utmost in containing this carp outbreak...just in case

Rumors on the internet also suggest that magicarp might be the only shiny out in the wild for the moment in any case. But if you look at the math involved and catching say a snorlax you have a 0.03% chance and on top of that 1 in 8000 chance to get a shiny, as is such certain mon's will almost be impossible to find in their shiny forms

Apparently the shiny one will only e revealed in a battle, on the map they show as normal.

I am not complainging.

considering how long it took the wife to get her first Gyrados, the fact she is on over 100 candies already for her second one says just how many there are at her office. 3 or 4 every half our.

Shiny magicarp caught and evolved to my 1st Gyarados. Now 4 another 400 candies for a normal Gyarados.

So my gmail account which was linked/used for auth in PokémonGo disabled so.. no more PokémonGo for me.

One thing I wanted to mention though in passing was that events like these use to annoy me.. I walked something like 170km or so for my Gayarados? Similarly with finding some rare Pokémon and then events come along and everyone has one

Anyway.. wrt PokémonGo.. asked them to move my account.. answer was nope.. so that's that.

Although, I'm conflicted about these type of events too, I mean YAY i finally have a gyarados but the valentines day one with its damn chanseys sort of left a bad taste in my mouth. Or as in the case of the halloween event, i grinded for weeks to get a gengar and did not see many in gyms....until halloween...then they were everywhere. But its probably a way of evening the playing field between areas.

Here's hoping for a summer's day/fire's day...a day with fire types ok...damn cyndaquils just seem to be ridiculously rare (for a starter)

outside of the water event, Water pokemon.
and grass pokemon.

for anyone wondering how crazy this event has been.
when the event started my wife needed 8 carp candies.
we went out the night it started and she found them, all happy, got her Gyrados, all she was missing to complete gen 1 then was Muk, Dragonite and DEwagong.

now all she needs is Muk and Dragonite.
and she has enough for a second Gyrados, but she is holding off to the end of the event to see if she can find a shiny carp to evolve.

I completed my gen1 pokedex over the weekend Omastar and Kabutops were the last required and I had enough Omanyte candy to weeks back just forgot to evolve. With the event I can evolve another Omanyte.
Excluding region exclusives ofcourse.

jip, event was good for carp candy...started the event shorting 130 candies for my first Gyrados and now 400 candies later going for my second

yesterday

at the centurion gautrain station pokestop I got a metal coat.

walking from hatfield station to hatflield plaza I hit one pokestop and got a kings rock

and then on the same walk I caught a Laprass.
then my 5K hatched something stupid.

got to the wife's office, hit the pokestop there and got my 9th 10K egg.

it was a good day

Plenty of 10km eggs so far this year - but still no Snorlax or Lapras.
