There are two parts to this post:
1. I was up in Kimberley last weekend, connected at 2.2mbps.
At home in Durban (I am 100m from the tower), since late May, my speeds have been around 30-60kbps. That is one whack of a difference and leads me to believe that oversubscription means a lack of service delivery. I have been in contact with MTN for the past 3 months with little or no success. They are completely useless.
2. I went to http://www.mtn.co.za/Internet/MyAccount/Pages/Balance.aspx to check my balance. It tells me I have 4000MB expiring on 28 November. That is less that the 2 Gigs per month (Sept-Oct, Oct-Nov) I am allocated. I get a different reading each time I check, leading me to the conclusion that it is a waste of time.
I have the B660 wireless modem that came with the contract. There is no dashboard, can anyone assist me with instructions on how to check my usage?
MTN is hell.
