Porn problem among SA teens

R150 per donation.
I may go twice a week, but must abstain the day before each donation. They pay you R100 each time, and keep the R50's for when you finish donating for a certain period of time, which is roughly 9 months.

Anyways, back to the argument...

 Surely they could get volunteers for that? :D

Anyway, what do they use all the juice for? Out of curiosity.

I know I drank champagne when I was 9... Got a buzz (Was the real deal)

Never drank alcohol again, not even out of a glass that had some in it till the age of 14... :)

As to alcoholism, i think that theirs a gene for it, but yes, i've also, had a similar experience to what Wizard had, i was given wine/beer/champagne, back as 6/7 as long as i remember, and it never turned me into an alcoholic, if anything, i am the last one to drink at parties.

but hey that will not apply to everyone, as i've said some people are born alcoholics and some aren't.

as to cigarettes, that should be banned, and should never be allowed to be given to children, however, if the child does get his/her hands on one, it would be wrong to take it from them as you can't restrict them, you must restrict the ones that make cigarettes available to them.

My father poured me a drink since I were in std. 8. Today I drink regularly but never more than 4 drinks if I party heavily. Some people I know (who never had a drop when they grew up - even their parents don't drink) today can't stop until they're totally pissed.

I can't remember the last time I was very drunk. The amount of times that I were drunk to the point of feeling sick, I can count on three fingers. I'm 30 BTW.

The detrimental effects of pornography can be seen quite clearly in Europe with their high rates of rape and teenage pregnancy. Oh wait...

I blame the VCR for the moral decay in this country.
BETAMAX FTW!!!!
Oh wait... same argument, different decade.

I blame printed media for the moral decay in this country... them and their colored pictures... douh!
Or try the predictions made about the negative impact of theatre. There is always some alleged threat to the moral fabric of society.

Most countries in Europe have a negative population growth, meaning more people die than are born.

So porn does no lead to a dramatic increase of teenage pregnancies to endanger societies' well being. As a matter of fact it can't even maintain a stable society, regarding population numbers.

Cool.

Yeah, some people have addictive personalities. What this means is that if you take their toys away (booze or porn or whatever) they simply find the next thing. Clamping down on "abusive substances" actually does not solve the problem one bit. The solution is modifying the addictive behavior. Enforce moderation and substitution.

Bradbowlllama, Vespax and marine1 , by reading your posts its clear u find porn repulsive. Which means you find the very natural act of a man and a women having sex repulsive? Sounds a bit gay to me.

If you feel uncomfortable seeing another guy's dick in a porno it means you have some insecurities in the sexual preferences department.

You need to read all my posts then... oh... and stop contradicting yourself.

1) The natural act of a man and a woman having sex is more than acceptable.
2) Getting pleasure and/or playing with yourself while watching another man and a woman at it is not natural. You're welcome to your opinion on that front, and I will stick to mine...

On the cover of popular mechanics this month, the headline reads "In future, humans could get really close to robots... Sex with machines".

The article may read a little far fetched initially, especially with the way they use the words love and machine in the same context, but it indicates a real problem people have in this modern self-gratification society...

It's become all about selfish me... Sex is merely gratification of ones self - of course some may argue that it takes two to tango, but porn for one teaches us that sex is all about an orgasm. The social side of sex is disappearing and people are taught lies about what life / love / sex and relationships are about. We have exchanged ordinary fulfilling relationships for unnatural ones - just as we have done with so many other aspects of our lifestyles.

Of course we know that people have been having sexual relations with 'machines' for a long time in the many forms of masturbation out there, and I'm not going to get into any argument that masturbation is good or bad, but the inability to socialize on a 'normal' level is where the problem really lies.

Reminds me of a communist state where people have forgotten how to socialise normally or think for themselves... and need little grey professors in white coats and their statistics to explain subjects to them that should be regarded as common sense. Problem with all these stats is that they are right today and wrong tomorrow... Someone pointed out earlier that the problem lies in bad parenting... probably partly so - I think it's more vital today than ever to be close to your own kids and have a good healthy relationship with them, otherwise they will learn the facts of life elsewhere - no, I'm not talking one dimensional sex here, I'm talking relating to other people on a healthy level.

We claim it's our 'choice' but as others here have indicated, we have become enslaved to the lifestyle of self gratification... 'we don't want any different' many argue... sure, I understand... for me, I prefer that my children learn natural relationships with members of the opposite sex to start with, then make up their own minds after that.

It would also be awesome to hear some women's POV on this... Maybe the mere fact that the women on this forum avoid these kinds of threads is an indication of where we have got it wrong as men. Women and men are physiologically different (duh) but not only physio, but psychologically different as a result. Our brains are wired differently. We do things for different reasons. One pov is that women are prepared to have sex in exchange for attention and affection, of course porn doesn't show you that side of things... it fools you into thinking that sex between women and men is interchangeable - nothing to do with the differences of the sexes... it's all the same, about an orgasm and nothing more. There IS more to sex, but we are allowing our children to be taught otherwise by an aggressive, and greedy (money hungry) sector of society.

It's only natural, you are a student and don't have children... and have therefore never had to think about anything but from the pov of yourself.

You're like the little boy who wants his own way and wonders what on earth his parents could know that he doesn't...
;)
