Port Elizabeth

It's boring isn't it
The poor government and Covid have hit PE pretty hard. Lots of restaurants and touristy type places were hit the hardest. Unless you're looking to include the surrounding game parks, dorpies, etc. I would say maybe give it another year or two to rebuild post Covid. Hopefully things improve

It depends on what you are after.

Some of the best scuba diving is available in PE. Great reefs and lots of wrecks, lots of raggys. And it's the dolphin capital of the world. A lot of nature in the area and surrounds.
If you want action, join the NSRI as a volunteer.
Yeah if you're an adventurous and outdoorsy person, you could have a great holiday this side

5-10 years now with the way the mayor is mishandling things.

Scuba diving and raggies don't go well together.

They do. As long as you are at depth it's great, avoid the surface because you look like a seal to them.

Plus the last raggy that chomped a scuba diver farted air for about 6 months afterwards :ROFL:

Summerstrand Neighborhood Watch and other community groups are making a huge difference in terms of safety. However, I'd definitely recommend against living there if you don't need to. Summerstrand is completely taken over by students and taxis and in my opinion, one of the unsafest (wealthy) areas as a result. Grew up in Summerstrand PE and now live in East London. I feel a million times safer here than when I'm in PE.There was some positive change when Athol Trollip was running the show, but now the political situation is a mess and service delivery close to nonexistent.
Summerstrand was always infested with students. I was one of them in the late nineties!

No thanks I'm not interested in anything that has to do with water. For me, as long as its better than plk and on par with the gauteng townships and shisa nyamas, I'm game.
I moved down from J/Burg to East London about 25 years ago. I only visit the beach maybe once a year when the family comes around. But it's nice to know it's there. :p

So in style u saying it's just a city. Just a basic city like plk. Nothing to really make u feel alive or have great fun

No I was talking about East London. Never lived in PE so can't answer that. I was just saying that you don't need to participate in water activities. I'm sure there is a lot to do in PE.
