Portable Power Stations

Should be. Just make sure to charge it between sessions. It's got a +-4 hour charge time (from 0) so definitely not as quick as some other units.

I was wondering whether I can use it as a UPS (ie: Keep it plugged in and plug in my laptop + monitor to the EB70)

General consensus is that you can, but you degrade the battery much quicker.

Assuming you're running it as a battery mostly and not as a UPS?

I have watched a few videos and not so sure about that.. But not an electronics engineer... Also depends a LOT on the internal components..

for UPS I believe it might "bypass" the battery (will make more sense).. AC in = AC out (not AC -in to DC (battery) then DC (battery) to AC-out).

But until someone "opens" one of these and confirms it is anyone's guess..

Have gotten feedback from Bluetti EB70 owners on Facebook and the general response is "the fans only turn on when needed". This was the most detailed reply I got:

An official update from Bluetti:

This is the condition for the EB70 fan to turn on:
1、Start: AC output power >300W
Off: AC output power <250W, 10 seconds off
2、Start: DC output power >95W
Off: DC output power <85W, 10 seconds off
3、Start: Charging power >90W
Off: Charging power <75W, 10 seconds off
4、Start: Charging power report TEMP
Off: No alarm

From what I understand, you're basically just using the battery while you're charging it, so ya, the lifespan will decrease.

Also, the EB70 has a charger with a fan that is ALWAYS ON when plugged in, even if the device has finished charging. It's a bit noisy and annoying when it's literally doing nothing.

I only use these things as batteries.

I will take some photos to check it tonight..

Maybe it does "top up" the battery as well if there is enough power.

Plan is:

Plug in TV with the EB3A on 65% and see
a) Does it "top-up" the battery
b) What happens / DC in / AC out etc on the "screen"
c) Simulate Loadshedding (switch of the plug) and see what the screen does..

Will probably do a quick video and share (#Sharing-is-caring).

Pre-orders are open for Delta 2 here:

March / April.

Stock on these will probably sell like hot cakes.

Haha swak. He's selling them for more than the Delta 1300 even though they are cheaper in the US. I guess at least they're roughly what the original Delta costs here, even though it has a lower capacity... It still should be coming in at a bit cheaper :/

I guess I'll be waiting a while to replace my original Delta then. I'll wait for official pricing and more people to start offering stock/pre-orders so I can get the best price.

Also, Google has revealed the local Ecoflow site is also planning to launch soon (it redirects to the main page, but they are already running ads):

Oh just saw this.

Pricing subject to change. Backorders secures stock.
Please note pricing maybe subject to change without Prior Warning. Should Pricing go up we will require the rest of the funds.

The Delta 1 is selling for R28000 on that site https://za.ecoflow.com/products/delta-portable-power-station which is way over priced.

Anyway with supply/demand the guys that import these can charge whatever the customer is willing to pay.

If you could get the Delta Max 2016Wh for the same price as the new Delta 2. Wich one would you pick?

The only drawback on the Max is the NMC batteries as far as I can tell.

I'd rather have less capacity and greater life cycles, but that's because 0.5-1 Kwh is more than enough for my needs. As long as I can charge the battery in 2-4 hours I'm sorted.

Ya. Buying direct from Ecoflow is not a great idea if you want a good price but I know there will definitely be people buying, even with the excessive markup. At least I've got enough capacity to last until a good deal appears.

OK, EB3A charging...

These you can change on the app - and maybe by pressing a button sequence according to this video: EB3A - Power Station Tutorial - Funny how they call it "Blu-T" - OK pressing AC and DC buttons at once allows you to switch between ECO and Standard (not ECO)

ECO = maxes out on AC Input at 109Watts - NO Fan (Internal power supply) - says will take 2.4 Hours from 0 to 100%
Standard = maxes out on AC input at 265 Watts - Fan goes on immediately - says will take 0.9 Hours from 8% to 100%
Turbo = maxes out on AC input at 350W with the following warning:

Can ONLY go "Turbo" in the App.. (not going to test that one) :D

So I did "drain" it to 0% and charging now to 100% to teach the BMS how "big" the battery is :D
