I noticed torrents download at a much higher speed at night from 11. I am sure most of you know this. I will run some more tests. I saw some torrents peak at around 5MBS last time.

Speed Test. Been running it at different, random times. The wife has reported that it has been more usable over the last few days. I only really use it over the weekends.

My speedtest results the last 12 hours, performed every 30 minutes. Didn't go above 10mbps once.

It's amazing how inconsistent Rain is with their speeds... even your 5G connection.

For sure , Yesterday i was in a gotomeeting with a developer trying to sort out an issue at a client,
needless to say he told me i should contact him when i get my connection sorted cause he cant work like this ,
Now i work from home at the moment and i need to support some of our clients remotely, Now bare in mind this is a service that costs you R1000 a month , and something your depending on to keep your job . Scary thought .

Lucky i have a Telkom sim so will retry this today via telkom , but from what i have been able to test since last night it's not as fast , but it sure is a lot more stable \consistent , less packet loss etc..

But the point is , i'm already paying R1000 for something that's suppose to at-least get me working, now i need to fork out another R100 a gig to work , Fun Times,

Likewise.. been paying R1350 for Rain Fixed LTE via Afrihost since August 2018... It served really well for 16 months, but around January it deteriorated heavily and haven't really recovered... I work remotely full time (software developer) for an American firm, so I really depend on having a decent internet connection. Thankfully all communication is done via Instant Messaging / Email so, I can get away with not having to Skype/Zoom/whatever.

But this year, I've probably spent R2000-3000 just on additional data for my iPhone so I can tether MTN 4G, as Rain constantly dies on me when I have to work.
