Need some help with my home audio upgrade.
Some back story: Recently my 5.1 home theatre blu-ray player went poof and stopped working.
So i decide to use this opportunity to start upgrading my audio system and start with a good a/v receiver (Onkyo TX-NR575).
Ill use the speakers that came with the player in the meantime and upgrade those as time and money becomes available.
Now the problem i have and help i need is with the passive sub.
The receiver only has connection option for a powered/active sub, and as everyone knows, those home theatres only have passive subs.
Now how do i go about powering the sub? At amazon there's a few small cheap amps that i can use, but i can't find anything local.
All the local online shops that i have looked at sell those large very expensive amps, nothing like what amazon offers.
I could always order one from amazon, but im looking for something local that i can have within a day or 2.
Any help would be much appreciated, if you know of a shop that supplies.
Not looking at buying an active sub now.
