Frog soup nearly ready...
Monday...The SoD is being discussed today at the NEC - not sure when they will implement it though.
You're aware that there have been SoDs called before and after COVID right? Not all SoDs are like the one that was called for that, each one is different.SoD won't effect day to day life... Hopefully
Always learning here, didn't know thatYou're aware that there have been SoDs called before and after COVID right? Not all SoDs are like the one that was called for that, each one is different.
Going off grid and having to pay tax are very different things. It is now impossible to go off-grid on land that is zoned as residential. And the "off-grid" housing plots all stand to be re-classified as residential. Technically it is not possible to go off-grid, if you own a house in SA you will pay what they tell you to pay regardless.
Yup, in fact just before the COVID SoD one was called for a drought in the EC, KZN has had an SoD called on it, JHB has as well, though we don't get the special treatment KZN gets as we still get load shedding.Always learning here, didn't know that
ANC voter strongholdYup, in fact just before the COVID SoD one was called for a drought in the EC, KZN has had an SoD called on it, JHB has as well, though we don't get the special treatment KZN gets as we still get load shedding.
What happens in the evening when there's no sun or when there is no wind...![]()
US renewable energy farms outstrip 99% of coal plants economically – study
It is cheaper to build solar panels or cluster of wind turbines and connect them to the grid than to keep operating coal plantswww.theguardian.com

Very different issue on the table here.Yup, in fact just before the COVID SoD one was called for a drought in the EC, KZN has had an SoD called on it, JHB has as well, though we don't get the special treatment KZN gets as we still get load shedding.
BTW, saw the anc statement on the subject. BollocksLet's pretend it's a normal govt.
How will a SoD help control these problems anyway?
The Democratic Alliances (DA) shadow minister for energy Kevin Mileham said declaring the Eskom crisis a national state of disaster would open up funding for the failing utility to reduce load shedding by up to two stages in the short-term.
All work from home, industries shutdown, they use more power then residents anywayVery different issue on the table here.
Affects the whole country.
Last time it did there was massive fraud and abuse by the anc.
They are the cause of this.
They have shown no ability to manage the crisis.
Let's pretend it's a normal govt.
How will a SoD help control these problems anyway?
BTW, saw the anc statement on the subject. Bollocks
Biggest laugh;
Bull. The anc control all funding regardless.
All work from home, industries shutdown, they use more power then residents anyway. Or a wise government would look at getting those industries on to alternate power to alleviate the grid
Yup, same for here in Jozi... But as we can see it's just a disaster.Wasn't a state of disaster declared to help recover KZN after the flooding?
The only issue that makes any sense regarding the long term cause is sabotage. There is zero other acceptable reason that enough proper repairs couldn't be done, and there is zero difference that a SoD will make to that. All work from home, industries shutdown, they use more power then residents anyway. Or a wise government would look at getting those industries on to alternate power to alleviate the grid
