Pre Paid Data Bundles [PPDBs]

Hi,

I got through to 155 this morning. The dude there tells me they have postponed it. They are _still_ ironing out glitches with billing. The are pushing to have it done this year still.

I tested with the bundle I managed to buy last week, (sms'd mymeg 20 to the number 100 - dont try this kids), and I am still being billed for gprs traffic. It's a lot of fun trying to get the bundle - that expires at the end of the month - reversed. I think it may expire before I get it reversed.
 
I was playing with *100# last night and the one time i went in there was an option "Data Bundle Balance" so i selected it and the thing bombed.

Then i restarted the thing and the option was gone :confused:

Surely the Vodacom guys are not doing testing at 9:30 at night??? So what sort of glitch managed to get me to there...?
 
after holding on again at 155 they told me no databundles for prepaid at the moment - she says, "whoever told u that it was launching on the 8th has given you wrong info! i dont know where he got that from "

then i said,load me a contract bundle because ive wasted 8 days already paying R2 per mb waiting for prepaid...she says ok and does it.

At 3:40pm i call back and contract bundle still not loaded ( the guy says 6 hours still not up! (just over 5 hours up) )
take my chance again and ask him what about prepaid bundles...HE SAYS THEY ACTIVE 2 MONTHS ago!
I tell him, sorry sir, you mistaken, it was supposed to be active 2 months ago but is not..
He says " IT IS! "
i tell him it cant be...He says hold on...after about 4 min he comes back and says: im sorry, i thought it was.....blah blah.....
VODACOM get your ACT right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WE WANT PREPAID DATA BUNDLES! and we want them NOW..u advertised 1st NOVEMBER and its 8th DECEMBER!
 
Yes this prepaid thing is working on my nerves now. they can do as much testing as they like, they will still have major problems
 
the sad thing is no matter when they come out, even if they make us wait two more months, we will all still rush out and buy them. We must be the most data hungry nation in the world...

Well prepaid bundles or not, Vodacom managed to mess up my bundles badly as if it was prepaid bundles. My latest bill shows i will be billed for a 3G 500MB -and- 3G 250MB -and- a pro-rata amount for the 250MB from the time i changed my bundles -and- the regular contract fees, coming to a nice R850+ bill.

(I'm sure it'll be fixed eventually,i just wonder if this is a prepaid-bundle symptom resulting in the ability to load multiple bundles)
 
I know what we all know---Vodacom cannot deliver on its promise - 1st november and now its 14th december - so I'm saying, looks like we can forget it....no more voda prepaid bundles --my real aim is to get everyone asking about it again - seems its no longer a sticky and no one cares and even V3g seems to have no idea when its going to be launched...
maybe they have scrapped it?aint it make u think that way?
1 things 4 sure,they are coining it in the interim and the interim is really being stretched...
I'm really frustated

Pre-paid data bundles are on the way, but as we all know by now, there are some gremlins stopping the service from rolling into production.

It's HUGELY frustrating for everyone, from you guys who want the product, to Vodacom who sees it as an important offering to the poor techies who've not slept much the last few weeks.

By using ad-hoc bundles, you can get to the same structure as pre-paid. You can decide monthly how much your 'base' bundle should be and if you exceed this, you can 'top-up' with more bundles. Pretty much just like pre-paid. And at the same rates.
 
Maybe there is something we can do. You know... fresh eyes.

Send us the code. Or even better. Let us help stress test the beta system :)

I agree - I'm sure there are plenty of very capable programmers on the forum!
 
When I was complaining about it over a month ago, everyone wanted to beat me with a stick, how far we have come........

Strange that there is problems with the billing system.
That's what happens if you make it so intricate and force users to spend more money or loose the money that they already spent on a service that they didn't recieve yet...

Confused????

Apparently so are the vodacom technicians and programmers....
 
PS Will Vodacom let us know when they finally get it right or will we just have to try every day?

Trust me, the SECOND it becomes available, it will be announced here with fanfare, dancing girls and all round celebrations!!!

So don't try it every day, don't listen to anyone telling you it's available. I'll let you know the moment it's here.
 
Please can you guys explain what this is?
Will it only apply to prepaid users or contract subscribers.Will it maybe allow one to carry over un-used data?
 
They have not been launched yet. They are available to contract subscribers.
