I saw some "company" advertised a few posts relating to prepaid billing, and technician, I wonder who can that be, and what for. I don't think end of Jan will be the moment that every1 is waiting for.

Actually, I'm not waiting for it... I was, because swapping sim cards gets a bit tedious, but if the prices that MrG posted are accurate (http://www.mrg.za.net/files/Data Bundles.jpg), I'm still better off using MTN for data. Seeing as I currently buy a 100MB bundle for R100, to get the vodacom equivalent I'd either have to pay R110 for 75MB, or R150 for 150MB.

The only way in which it would benefit me is if I could buy a couple of 20MB bundles out of my R135 family topup balance. It'd be ever so slightly cheaper than the R2/MB out of bundle rate I'm paying now (wouldn't want to buy a 75MB bundle, cos then I'd only have R25 left for voice calls & SMS's). Any info on whether multiple bundles will be allowed?

well ajax, the above image I posted came from a actualy tariff guide. Dont know why they print what they print if thats not what they want to do

I don't think it is technically incorrect. v3g's post does not contradict what is stated in the tariff guide. The tariff guide basically omits the detail that v3g posted. Unless v3g has further comments or an update...

The last I heard is that it's still on for this month and that a bundle will last 30 days as per the add.

There is a tradition to launch stuff on Sundays, so let's keep on holding those thumbs...

Just my luck, it will happen. Next week I go to UK for six weeks, cheapest PAYG gprs I have found is 5 pounds per meg. Thats R50. Are we so badly off here?

As RPM stated on his talk on RSG the other day, we are actually extremely well positioned with wireless internet connections! In Europe there is hardly a market for it, since they have ADSL connections all over the continent, and don't have to rely on wireless for "area's too far from the exchange"

Plain fact: if mobile data was affordable more people would use it

Whilst myADSL master has a point, a growing percentage of vehicles in europe are now using GPS, in fact the move to deliver and capture data to and from the motor car is seen as major growth area. Can't use ADSL there.
The fact is they are hooked on contracts, don't seem to reckon the PAYG market.

Do we get prepaid bundles in about 30 mins from now?

I am so confident that Vodacom will not make it, that I bought an MTN prepaid sim card this weekend, and loaded a bundle.

nicovdw....i've been using a mtn sim card in my Vodafone Option quadlite card for ages. R220 for 350mb. Perfect.!!!! 63c/mb .....works like a bomb. But i'm still would prefer to be able to use Vodacom, pitty the ar'nt coming to the party with a decent pre-paid offer

The R220 for 350MB is really what I need. R200 for 250 MB is a real ripoff if you compare the two.

My main problem is that the 3g signal at my house is pretty shoddy on MTN, and it is also slower than Vodacom.

I also cannot get adsl.

Boo frikken hoo.

when you paying per mb....slower is not to bad when the /mb is cheaper.!!!
