i would be very much interested in a comparison of bolt-on data packages.
If you add the all-in-one bolt on to this package (http://www.cellc.co.za/prepaid/prepaid-benefits#All-in-One) it becomes insanely good value compared to the other networks, especially if your loved ones are on net.
My iPhone 500s contract suddenly seems ludicrously expensive. R925 a month on Cell C will get me 500MB data, 500 SMSs, 500 on net minutes, 500 off net minutes (per second), plus R225 left over per month to save towards a handset, which is R5400 over two years. The more people you have on net, the better value this gets as the 500 off net minutes are payg.
Vodacom and MTN really need to catch a wake up. If the Cell C contracts come in anywhere near their PAYG rates, Vodacom are going to hemorrhage high yielding customers tired of being ripped off.
You are absolutely correct. Cell C is however planning to announce new contract pricing soon![]()
Yep I just cancelled my 10 year old MTN contract yesterday(upgraded 4 months ago but under CPA I could cancel for the cost of the handset outstanding which was a mere R1909-00!
This article has just made me decide conclusively that I'm going to port to Cell C prepaid this week and when they get a GS3 and their contract rates are inline with their prepaid rates then I'm going to take out an additional one with them(already have my wife on their BB all week 100 which was good value at the time.)
How did you get that right? Vodacom quoted me R13,181 to terminate my contract. They calculated it at 19 months outstanding on contract x R925 (iPhone 500s) x 0.75. They cant give me a value on the handset.
