Premium Uncapped and changing ISPs

So I have two questions:

Is Axxess Premium Uncapped any good? I have a 4Mbps line and I stream a lot, but I'm starting to get frustrated with all the throttling/shaping that I'm experiencing with my current ISP.

If Premium Uncapped is worth my while, then I'd like to change ISPs as well as transfer my line from my current ISP to Axxess so that I can enjoy a little bit of discount with a combo deal. What is the quickest way to do that with minimal downtime? I have heard about guys having a tough time trying to do this because of Telkom's "new" protocol (In effect July 2015).

TIA

Rather get a capped account and stop worrying about throttling and shaping, check your usage on the portal or phone your ISP and take a little extra on top 50-100 gigs.

I would go to Afrihost, Axxess, CW or Vox but Afrihost does have a great special R100 to double your data so you can save a little there. Also all offer uncapped from 12pm-6am so you can download as much as you want in that time.

If you are with Webafrica or Mweb it takes 30 days to cancel so if you cancel now you have to wait until the 1st of August to go to a new ISP.

If you are with Openweb run run run and just accept any downtime as a step in the right direction.

With regards to the downtime you are forced to have downtime unless you leave your line with your current ISP and use a different ISP's data.

You could always try just using your current ISP's capped account and you will get a lot more out of it unless you are with Openweb.

I am currently with Web Africa on a 4Mbps Uncapped Account. I use about 150-200GB a month, a capped account in that region will cost me about R150 extra, whereas an Axxess premium uncapped account with line included will cost me R50 less with slightly more lenient throttling and shaping I hope. That's why I am considering the move, beyond that Web Africa gives me great service overall.

correction there, Afrihost midnight or Pre midnight data runs from 11:30pm to 7:30am

Then I would go for the Afrihost 100gigs for R199 and Double your data for R100. So R299 for 200 gigs plus uncapped from 11:30pm to 7:30am (thanks icemanbrfc).

No worries :) Enjoying my time with Afrihost, and pretty affordable. Now just to see what happens with news of the IPC price cuts. Hoping they also introduce a bump in data cap on existing packages, and keep pricing as is. Things are starting to move now, and i hope for the better.

oh dont forget Roll Over data, and with AfriPlus 500MB's mobile data, Simfy and soft cap if you reach your limit

I think I'll go the Afrihost route.

I was actually an Afrihost client before moving to Web Africa, billing issues made me leave.

Update:

So far so good, activated 75GB cap and Afrihost Plus data (150GB total), a couple of days ago and I can definitely say it a good decision. The network is fast and reliable, been streaming relatively seamlessly. I got 65GB in total (pro-rata).

I chose the 75 + 75 option because I realized that a significant chunk of my data usage about (40-50GB) was in the after hours zone so I would be able to get by with a lower cap.

I haven't moved my line over to Afrihost though because of the inevitable downtime.

To be honest, there's is Zero downtime (well in my experience ofc). I helped a client change from Vox to Afrihost, and had Zero downtime. Just Vox with their Super K@k aftermarket support. But After sending them a frot email, telling them what I think of their *****ty service, the line change was done within two weeks :)..
