top up vodacom is also a noshow
GPRS can go up to approx twice as fast as an analog modem. Edge is a lot better...
A E220 will help, provided you have good coverage. Check your MTN and Vodacom coverage before deciding. Coverage maps are not that accurate; run a test if possible (even if you can just borrow a 3G capable phone and check for 3G reception).
If I do a speed test on my dailup i get 199kbps On gprs i do not get more than 35kbps.![]()
Hi
What speed do you get on the mtn data bundle on prepaid as it is called "GPRS data bundles" on there webpage, and if I'm not mistaken this is only a bit faster than a modem?
Thinking of buying the e220 modem and then just use a prepaid card. Still need to deside between mtn and vodacom.
Thank you
Walti
MTN don't offer multiple bundles at the moment but it is something they're looking into

It's being looked into, just like the missing device downloads, why MTN Active is inactive, and where everyone's data is going.k, almost two years later.
Any news on that front please?
