Came across this while doing some research and thought it was quite interesting. Surprised by Japan.

Japan is not surprising. Just check which countries are on the right-hand side of Turkey/Poland. Pattern is visible with naked eye. Are they any developing countries in this area? :)

I know, just didn't think it would be that much.

Always said prepaid is for students that don't know how to manage spend.

Pre-paid is the dumbest thing in the world in my opinion. should have month to month contracts with different packages.

The only 2 year contracts I agree with is where the contract involves a new phone, but it should be 2 year phone contract not including data phone calls and sms's that should be a separate month to month contract.
