My laptop picks up a PTAWUG network signal at home. Does that mean somebody very close to me is using this? Or is it just picking up a tower(high site)?
I take it that it is not possible to connect to the network with my laptop's Wi-Fi. Or is it?

You wont be able to connect to that - it is a backbone grid
but if you put up kit you will be able to see the pin oak highsite and connect to PTAWUG - standard PTAWUG kit is R1700 incl from miro.co.za
