I am having a problem getting Windows installed on a Macbook via Bootcamp.

I have created the partition with the bootcamp assistant. It then boots up through the XP disc. I choose the partition and format it as NTFS. Then choose to install Windows. It installs the Windows setup files, but when it restarts, it keeps booting up into Mac OS X. Then when I try choose to restart from Windows, the Partition is not there (even though the HD space is missing from my Mac OS partition.

I have tried to remove the partition, reset up the partition, and tried to reinstall Windows again. But keeps doing the same thing.

Can anyone suggest anything/ I have done the Bootcamp installations a couple of times, but have never come across this issue.

It was working before as the unit had Bootcamp on before, but the Windows partition had gotten full of viruses, that is why I decided to reformat and re-install Windows.

Use your Mac OS X to boot into Disk Utility... delete the windows partition from there (after you've used Bootcamp to make one large disk again). Then boot back into Mac OS X and install Windows via Bootcamp. If you keep the "Alt" key in while booting which partitions does it show?

Bootcamp

I removed the bootcamp partition again, then repartitioned. And formated as NTFS, not NTFS (quick), and that seemed to resolve it.

I must admit, I do not like Bootcamp. Have had so many issues with it. If you gonna use Windows, rather just get a PC

i have had issues with bootcamp as well, but to be honest it is not that hard to do, and once working is usually pretty damn good.
Personally I think its a great system but would rather use something like fusion.

I like fusion as well. I like the snapshot feature. So if worst case, you can restore back to a previous screenshot.

Only reason using bootcamp, is cos a friend wants it setup that way. Tried to get them to use fusion, but no go.
