I went to Telkom Direct at Cresta yesterday to sign up for the 8ta contract, filled in all the documents and the lady tells me that it should take 30mins to 2hours. So I wait around and then go back to shop only to be told that she will phone me.

I went back in the afternoon around 17h00 and the lady tells me that they have so many applications to process and will call me the next day.

There was a couple seated with an 8ta rep and she was processing all the info same time.

It is already the next day and I have not got a phone call and the cresta telkom direct number is always ringing.

To sign a contract you will require the following documentation:
• Three months bank statements
• Latest payslip
• SA identification document
• Proof of residence – a utility bill with your home address on it

Well this is my experience. Just come from the Telkom direct store in the Centurion Mall. After standing in the queue for an hour just to find out they don’t have the ability to help me. Now I have been told to go to another Telkom direct store maybe they can help.

Anyone here signed up for this deal in the Centurion area? Where can I find an 8ta store?

Apparently the system to process applications is down (crashed) and will only be fixed by Saturday?!?! 8ta rep is this true? Went to the Canal Walk shop yesterday, signed the application etc. They haven't processed it yet. Got a call late afternoon saying the system crashed.
 
Got mine yesterday night - application went through fine. (Woodlands Mall)
The girl who helped me is quite new in 8ta, so she struggled a bit, but she double checked herself and managed to mess nothing up.
