Project Hulk promotion

This looks like a good option for those who want to replace their low end adsl packages... and will get better for those who roam with it.

Lastly where can I check for signal your coverage maps give a general 3G coverage but how do i know thats not coverage from an MTN tower ?

Are you using 8ta's/Hauwei mobile partner to connect with?
If so,using any sim,...disconnect......go to Setting/Options/Network/registration tab........select manual search & register.....refresh....
If you see SA02 then my guess is it can connect to 8ta rather than Mtn at your current location

When I do a manual network search I pick up a 8ta signal but there is no way for me to register on it (No Access)
The same thing happened with Cell C (No Access) a while back, they have activated the Tower now and I'm able to register on the Network.

Now my question is this, is there some one who can help with maybe a time schedule of the roll out of their coverage in the various areas. I may be willing to sign up for this, if some one can tell me when I will get coverage, obviously I will lose out on a few months when I don't have coverage (hopefully not to much )

Mr 8ta any help ? ;)

Hi,

I don't want to provide my payslip for confidential reasons. Do I have any other options?
Most readers will comply with the requirements listed with post number 5.
The National Credit Act is complex, so if you do have a different scenario you can message me directly a description (not your payslip) of your situation.

To sign a contract you will require the following documentation:
• Three months bank statements
• Latest payslip
• SA identification document
• Proof of residence – a utility bill with your home address on it

thanks !

silly question but would my internet 3 month bank statement be fine or will i have to get s stamped one from the branch ?

We are expanding the 8ta network, but I cannot supply you any time lines. I can only recommend that you view your coverage from time to time on the following link.

Your bank statements must be stamped by the bank.

Hi.
According to reports the deal launchs 26 June. Where will one be able ot sign up for this deal? I just KNOW that going to any 8ta dealer on Monday, that they won't have a clue about the deal. Will it be exclusively at Telkom outlets? Im from Bloemfontein.

Thank's for the reply 8ta, the odd thing is according to that coverage map, I'm covered. Maybe it's one of the towers which are not on "Air" yet, any way it's just a matter of time then :)

Thank's again!

Will the 8ta data sim work in the Cell C Huawei E1820 modem?
Assuming of course its no longer in use.

Some devices on the market are still soft locked. The default connection manager does not allow you to use another providers SIM card.

We do have firmware available on a few devices. You also have the option to try our 8ta Connect without flashing your device.

if i get the 7.2mbps modem\speedstick thingy will i get up to 7.2mbps speed ? or will the 8ta network only support a lower speed like only 1mbps ? im in the olivedale area if that helps.

reason i ask is because i dont want to go ahead and sign the contract only to find out i only get a max speed of maybe 384kbps or something ...

Data speed on a wireless network is influenced on many factors.

Some of these factors are:
• Number of users in a cell
• Distance from the base station
• Is the user moving or stationary
• Backbone infrastructure
• Device specifications

The service is a best-effort service and no guarantees are provided on availability or throughput.

To the 8ta Rep

I have two questions:

  1. [*]Is there any consideration to providing a 12 month contract?
[*]Why not consider a prepaid option?

For (1) this should be available at slightly higher price per month as your customers are committing to a shorter period; say R220/month. More revenue to 8ta then.

For (2) you could offer a one-year contract for say R2000 up front or R3800 (upfront) for 2 years. It would be less than the per month contract rate as you have your money in advance. This would enable 8ta to use the cash immediately. In this regard you actually open the market up people with volatile incomes, students etc. In aggregate more revenue to 8ta as your potential market is larger. Both suggestions are win-win, so why not just do it?

I think that many members of myBB would appreciate a response to this.

Correct. But like the rep said it might be soft-locked and would have to be formatted and reloaded with the 8ta firmware,or something like that.

CellC's connection manager ain't locked to only cellc, just put the 8ta sim in the modem, create a new 8ta profile if you wish(it will probably be the same as cellc setting anyway) & it should work.
8ta connection manager(mobilepartner) is the same as Cell C's (you wont even need to use 8ta's connection manager)
