Project managers everywhere

In the old lingo a Project Manager has to actually manage the project, take responsibility, mitigate risks, take care of resourcing etc

A Project Assistant / Administrator is essentially a glorified personal assistant who updates documentation only and worries about compliance checks that nobody else cares about ;)
Exactly. That is also why when we decided what subjects to take for our B.Tech we excluded everything with the word "Project" in the course title.

"What do you think your risks are in terms of delivering?"

"One of the PMs will be phoning you to collect metrics" (This was said in a 25 man conference call where every team had just reported progress)

...sigh

On the plus side, we're working in 2 person teams & I've managed to get my wingman to deal with the PMs...

Death by admin. Had my fair share of Project management personel as well.

Took over a project with a other team slightly different from my background and strongly felt the two project managers (yea one for overview big picture and one for day to day operations the one micro manages the other.) did not really know how to manage they knew how to kill you with silly Admin and so God damn many charts and analytics and statistical reports but none of that brought any benefit to the actual project if it wasn't for the senior dev guy this thing would have gone nowhere and in the end the Project Manger received a bonus and praise and stuff meanwhile the dev just went about his life another day another crisis averted from the shadow.

Ah the good old days when we all thought we'd be developers forever ... alas I fell off the path ... back to codewars.com to prove I still have it! :D
