yo! guys i have a stupid question for you. sometimes when a game starts it tells me that the 8mb card is full but do i want to carry on without saving (or something like that), does that mean that it wont autosave the game and can i delete stuff off the card and how?

one side of the cable is exactly the same as the one you have now, so it plugs in the same place, the other side has av plugs on it, so its a special cable.. but I've seen them going for real cheap, less than R50 at the flea markets..
start the console without a game, go to the browser, browse the memory card and delete the old games you dont play anymore...
You can't use anything other than the memory card to save but you can back up your save games
Here's how to back up your save games:
1) Download the files here: http://www.quickshare.co.za/files/6c6kilnq/PS2_Utilities.rar.html
2) Extract uLE v4.37 boot CD ISO.zip and burn the uLE v4.37 boot CD ISO.iso file on to a CD.
3) Format a USB Memory Stick to FAT32. Put the CD and USB Stick in to the PS2 and boot the PS2 up.
4) Once it's loaded up Press O and you'll see a list. First press L1 and then [] (square) and then press ^ (triangle).
5) Now that everything is readable go to Mc0:\ Press O to get in to it. You will see all your save games now.
6) Press X on every save game you want to back up it. It'll look like e.g. * GOD OF WAR 2. The * show you have selected it.
7) Press R1 this time and scroll down to copy press O to confirm. The icon at the top right should turn green. Press Triangle to go back.
8) Now go down to mass:\ O to get in. Press R1 again and now select PSUpaste. Once copied power the PS2 down.
9) Check on your PC to check all your save files are on the stick. If they are just delete the save file on your memory card.
10) Enjoy your free'd up memory card
NOTE: To put save games back follow 3 and go to mass:\ first copy the save game on there and PSUpaste it in Mc0:\ or Mc1:\ (Mc0 is memory card 1 & Mc1 is memory card 2)
You can also install Free McBoot which eliminates the need for the CD. Just unpack all the files from Free_McBootv1.8b.rar
Put everything on your memory stick plug it in to the PS2 and start uLaunchELF. Scroll down to mass:\ and open FREE_MCBOOT.ELF.
It'll load up Free McBoot and once loaded press X to start the normal install and install it on either memory card. Once installed
you wont need the uLaunchELF disc anymore. Just start the PS2 and scroll down to uLaunchELF and press X.

I remeber that... Makes me want to play GOW 2 again
I wish I could play GOW 3 stupid PS3 exclusive 
If I remeber correctly I kept jumping to dodge the ground attack and used the triangle attack until I got the sword from Zeus and powered it up (jumping until I had an opening) the attack it again with triangle til it fell and had an action sequence. Or it was action sequence first then powering up the sword, I played it a long time ago did you notice
GOW 1 &2 is still the best games for the PS2 EDIT: Just remebered! Roll away from the punching attack, keep rolling either backwards or sideways. Watch the ground I think you can see the shadow of the attack! If he does a side swipe with his arm then just block.

aah haa. the sword is stuck in the ground and i have a feeling i need to use it but don't know how. i at least deleted some of the stuff off the memory card so i can save the game because when i died all i could do was go back to the last check point but at least i know i need to dodge this dude now.

Yup you need to go power up the sword with some err stuff

Just prep your daughter for GOW2, it gets a bit hectic later in the game. Did you manage to sort the connector issue? From what i read, you don't have the normal out? it's the flat end (almost like usb) on one side (ps2) and then AV points for the TV?
i am stuck on the level where it looks like i am inside the giant statue and there are like green lasers that you have to shut down and it looks like i am at the last one but i don't know what to do.
Last night i was going through the emulator discs and there are hundreds of games on there and i was miffed because of the sound issue so i googled the connectors you guys were talking about and found i don't have that AV connector so all i did was unplug the connector to my tv aerial and reconnect it and the sound is back and it's perfect.

In the statue, the last lazer, i think you have to climb that pendulum log thing, and then use it to smash the stuff inside, or something, was a long time since i played that.
