PS3 vs Xbox 360

I have sworn to myself to never support Sony ever again. I bought my 60GB Playstation last year October. I bought it for two reasons, one it's reliability and secondly it's backwards compatibility. Sony has since removed the backwards compatibility and mine died on me a couple of days ago. It is out of warranty and it costs like R2800 excluding vat to repair. Unlike M$, Sony has not extended it's warranty and I cannot afford to to repair the box. Given that I paid close to six thousand rands for it, it was a huge waste of money for me.

I believe at the end of the day, Sony will loose more since they have lost both a loyal customer and future revenue from the games that I was going to buy. Now I'm looking at buying the X-box which is much cheaper, has cheaper games and carries a decent warranty. Or maybe I should just ditch both since they suck.

I just bought a xbox arcade version a few weeks ago brand new for R1199. now thats cheap. used a cna voucher though :p

My Xbox had the classic CD drive issue, and then after suffering with that as it wasnt too bad, I got the RROD. This is after 2 years though. Phoned support. Were incredibly. Gave me a ref. number. Went to incredible corruption and in a few days had a brand new one with no charge. Almost 3 years old now and working excellently and can't wait for the new dashboard update. :D

I didnt but new ones every time had them replaced with the same model, so im hoping now that its busted again i will get the new improved version.
 
Hey guys , what is the procedure now for replacing the xbox360, what is the MS Customer Number. How do i make sure i get the rrod version

Three red and one green flashing light on the console will indicate RRoD. I think this is the number 0800 991 550. Call it, explain your situation, get a ref. no., take it to the store you bought it from with the receipt and Bob's you uncle! :D

I wish :o I'm still waiting for them to come collect mine for repair.
 
I'm surprised no one has mentioned this, but I believe the XBOX 360 controller wipes the floor with the PS3's. It is so much more ergonomic and comfortable, while the PS3's is a pain to hold for too long. It's too light, too small, built cheaply and I've actually got a blister on my thumb from using the analog stick on it (do they coat it with sandpaper or what?)

Somebody should design a PS3 controller that is modelled exactly like the XBOX's (and vice versa, for those that actually like the PS3 controller) :)

What bull****. I upgrade my pc every 2-3 years. My god. The cheaper games more than make up for the hardware cost anyway.

What a tool.

Yup, thats what happened to me, went to btgames, gave em the console and the ref number, without even batting an eyelash they went to the back storeroom and fetched a sealed 360 unit and gave it to me in exchange for my xbox with the box and remote etc. The new one I got is a falcon model witch I believe has a better cpu than the old one I had AND it even has HDMI where mine did not, a real bargain. Im not sure if the procedure differs from store to store though, I hope not. BTW when I phoned ms they barely asked me to do anything, all I said was my xbox has the red lights and the guy was like here's your ref number. :-)

F##K that,if sony design an xbox style controller for the ps4 i will NOT buy it and rather spend the money on upgrading my PC and get a logitech controller(that looks almost like the PS3 controller) for my pc

Ofcourse he wouldn't they have had so many returns it's now just normal for them.

I suggest you use a dualshock 3 controller instead of a sixxass one.

Pc owns end of discussion. Enjoy dx 9 and R1k games noobs!
