PS5

You can set the hdr setting to auto , so it will only kick in if it detects hdr content
I believe it's only at an app level, at least the last time I checked. So if the app wants to play HDR then everything in that app is presented in HDR.

Fair point, I can neither confirm or deny your statement. I will have to test it.

PS5 auto-upload features lets players automatically share capture to the PlayStation mobile app

A new PS5 feature that allows users to automatically upload game captures to the PlayStation mobile app instead of directly to social media has begun rolling out to some players.

As reported by VGC, some PS5 owners have spotted a new feature becoming available in the Media Gallery of their consoles. According to a tweet by @GamingIntPhoto1 on Twitter, the new feature presents itself as a pop-up after you take a screenshot or video of your gameplay and head to the PS5’s Media Gallery.

The pop-up reads: "Automatically upload your latest screenshots and video clips, and view them on PlayStation App." According to the pop-up notice, once the new feature is enabled, the captures you take in a game will automatically become available in the PS App, however will only be available for 14 days after you create them.

Finally...hope it becomes available soon. Looks like it's still in beta.

Just a heads up, the official PS5 Media remote use Bluetooth and turns the PS5 on. Great for me as my PS5 is behind my TV so no need to be line of sight.

If you have HDMI-CEC enabled you can turn both TV & PS5 on with one button and a second button to fire up Netflix ready to play.

Def 1 up on Xbox on that front.
Really? I walk into my lounge and say Hey Google, turn on Xbox and lets play some Assassins Creed and boom TV is on and Assassins Creed is ready. Or Netflix or or.
Not sure on the official media remotes for the Series though :).

Sony Buys Bungie For $3.6 Billion

The PlayStation company has acquired Bungie in another massive deal for the gaming industry.
Sony is buying Halo creator and Destiny developer Bungie in a deal valued at $3.6 billion, it was announced today. GI.biz was first to report the deal, which will make Bungie become an "independent subsidiary" of Sony Interactive Entertainment. Sony officially confirmed the deal and the valuation in a press release.

PlayStation boss Hermen Hulst said of the deal, "I'm absolutely thrilled to welcome Bungie to the PlayStation family!" Hulst added: "Bungie create community-driven games with outstanding technology that are enormous fun to play, and I know that everyone at PlayStation Studios will be excited about what we can share and learn together."

This is a good move. Sony can bargain with Destiny.

Japanese companies cannot be wholly acquired by non-Japanese legal persons/companies. Anyone interested in acquiring Capcom, Konami, Square Enix etc, would need to do it via a Japanese part-owned subsidiary. Sony grabbing a US dev is huge.

I can see Sony go to MS and say we can share Destiny and in return, you must share CoD, how it will work in two respective ecosystems I don’t know, but I am sure there are talks.

From what I've read so far this deal is not about exclusivity, Bunjie will still be able to operate independently and offer multi-platform content. Sony's acquisition is more about live-service online games and thats where Bunjie comes in.

Well, as this is the game I went back to after a couple of years absence and have been playing full time for the last 2 months, I'm happy :)

I've never played Destiny or COD game, FPS are not my thing. Hopefully they have a new IP they working on, preferably a 3rd person RPG....
