PS5

Again it doesn't matter to me if xbox or PS died tomorow, I just find holding on to games so nobody else can play it as stupid.
I don't even like PS games, i play mainly Dota and overwatch type games

Clearly you don't know how businesses make money....

I was really excited to play Grounded on my PS5 but it seems its only going to the Switch. Hopefully they will be bring it to more platforms in the near future

  • Grounded – also from Obsidian Entertainment – a co-op survival adventure phenomenon that has welcomed 20 million players into the backyard, will be coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch on April 16. Cross play will be supported across Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Hi, I'm planning on getting a PS5 soon (most likely the slim when it drops around Easter, unless the original is discounted by a bit) and was wondering which gaming monitors would be best for it?

I currently have a PS4 (gaming on my tv and would like a future-proof monitor so when finally get the PS5 I'm not forking out money on a new monitor)

Currently looking on Takealot and is this a good option? Samsung LS24AG320 24" Full HD 1ms 165Hz Gaming Monitor With AMD Free Sync Premium

My budget is max ~R4K (can spend a bit higher if I get a voucher lol)

thanks :-)

The PC is the PS5 Pro.

I hope this means they are simply firmware updating the thing so it can be more open in general.

Including the PS5 itself where apps like Plex still aren’t allowed to use the VR mode.

Anybody get an email from Sony titled:

It's a bit tough on that budget.
For a "real PS5 experience", you want 4K 120hz with VRR (freesync), and you're not going to get that on a monitor for R4K.
Few games actually go above 60fps (Splinter and friends can correct me if I'm wrong), so I wouldn't spend money just for that while still gaming at 1080p.

I would never again buy a VA panel for gaming, unless I have a trusted review stating that it doesn't smear. Claimed 1ms response time doesn't mean much imo, and that pretty much rules out all Samsung monitors.
For example, look at this: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/samsung/odyssey-g3-s24ag30
1ms response time, but slow response time with lots of smearing.

MUST you get a monitor, or can you continue gaming on your TV?

I mean, it's not a "MUST" per se, so I can continue with the PS4 on the TV but I definitely don't wanna use my current TV once I get a PS5 as my TV is a few years old now (and I don't really plan on buying a new fancy TV that's more suited for PS5 gaming, would much prefer a monitor).

Can you perhaps provide a few examples please? If I increased the budget to R6K let's say? And if that's still too cheap then the cheapest most compatible PS5 monitors :)
