PS5

I wonder what they'll do long term.

Maybe throw it up on PS Plus for a month and see what happens, if not enough people are interested by then I wouldn't be surprised if they just completely killed it. Doesn't make much sense burning more money to try and fix something nobody really wanted in the first place.

Feel bad for those devs who spent years working on the game, for it to come out and then have a lower peak player count on Steam than Gollum did.

What will happen is the same thing that usually does, the devs will lose their jobs while the execs that made a bunch of bad calls and likely forced certain decisions will live to green light more slop, see: Arkane, Rocksteady.

Its actually not a bad game. It was quite fun during the beta BUT it's not R750 fun so I just went back to my main game Paladins and recently a bit of Overwatch 2.

So if you compare OW2 and Paladins you will see why Concord didn't stand a chance.

1. They are free 2 play
2. Plenty of content
3. Cross play and available on all platforms

Concord forces you to have a PS account and doesn't sell you the game if you are in a country that can't have one so they took so many players off the table from the get-go that it was bound to fail. In terms of this woke thing I don't pay much attention to that actually.

In a global world putting up hurdles for the global audience is self defeating

PlayStation Getting More Than 1,300 Retro Games on September 6

  • Antstream Arcade is coming to the PS4 and PS5 on September 6.
  • The retro gaming service will be available for $39.99 per year, in addition to offering lifetime access for a one-time fee of $99.99.
  • Antstream Arcade is set to become the first-ever third-party cloud gaming service on Sony's consoles.
Game Rant can exclusively reveal that Antstream Arcade is coming to PlayStation on September 6. The service will bring over 1,300 retro games to Sony's consoles, with PlayStation users being able to enjoy its catalog via either a subscription or a one-time purchase of lifetime access.

The PlayStation version of Antstream Arcade was officially announced in mid-August 2024. The platform is poised to become the first third-party cloud gaming service to launch on PlayStation consoles.

Antstream Arcade is officially framing its PlayStation launch as a continuation of its efforts to preserve gaming classics. The importance of that mission cannot be overstated, not least because the vast majority of old-school games are no longer available commercially nowadays. The biggest chunk of Antstream Arcade's present-day library comprises Commodore 64 games, of which there are currently 358. The ZX Spectrum and arcade machines are the next two most-represented platforms on the service with 351 and 293 games, respectively. The Antstream Arcade content catalog expands on a fairly regular basis, with new titles usually being added every week. Game removals are less frequent, although they do happen a few times per year.

If Gals Panic is there then I'm in. All the okes used to hang around at that machine by the spaza store after school...

Well that happened quickly

PS5 Pro Leak Reportedly Shows What The Console Looks Like

Sony has yet to officially announce or reveal the PS5 Pro, but it’s one of the industry’s biggest open secrets and it appears the silence may about to be broken. Ahead of a debut, a new leak suggests that we may now know what the PS5 Pro looks like, along with some additional information.

This information comes from dealabs.com in an interesting format. The site claims they have seen the packaging of the PS5 Pro box, which they are not sharing itself, but instead they have done the equivalent of a police sketch of the box based on what they’ve seen, which you can see above.

As you can see, it is not exactly a radical departure, and echoes the PS5 Slim pretty clearly, albeit with more ridges up its sides. It’s supposed to be a bit thicker and this version at least does not have a disc drive. The site does not know if there will be an option with a drive or not, removable or no. The same DualSense controller will be included with the system, and that is not changing, as expected

This seemed to have been on the money as they officially teased it now:

Any suggestions for a replacement PS5 remote? I'm tired of trying to fix the stick drift and you can only disassemble and assemble a remote so many times.

I'm not willing to replace it with another normal PS5 remote only having to sit with the same issue again next year. Games are mostly shooting type of games.

Nacon for sure, but the printing on the buttons comes off quite quickly
