I think you are right. I'll rather wait until my local Kloppers has stock of the Mavic.

How much and were from?HiFi Corp had the Mavic for R17999 last week.
I was so interested in the DJI but found another drone that is larger in form but would serve another purpose that I would need to solve very soon.
Yuneec Q500 4K
Only reason being the detachable camera and hand held gimbal.
The DJI osmo is a R5000 piece of kit, the Q500 includes it
You are brave taking it over the oceanTook the old bird out for a flight today;

What is the footage like compared to a Mavic?
R18K isn't much cheaper than the Mavic and the Mavic will have better support and resale value.Look at this quick comparison.

The yuneec actually produces better footage according to some of the reviews I have watched.
Some functionality and feature loss in comparison to the DJI and also has a shorter flight time.
You could get the Q500-4K on Takealot a while back for around R18k but it has since been removed.
Big reason to go DJI would be the portability and local support/parts

That is handy but then wouldn't the Gopro setup be a better option?Yes, but as mentioned earlier
Picking up my Mavic Pro in 45 minutes, cannot wait.

Nice ... are you going to do firmware before flying?
Probably best to do firmware first.
Getting the drone and remote only, will order this online http://smashtronics.co.za/shop/mavic-pro-fly-more-combo-top-up/ still works out cheaper than the fly more combo
Nice price there! Ja, every time I take my Mavic out, there's a new firmware. The last two firmware updates gave me more shyte than they were worth. Have considered rolling back to .700 but I have not yet tried .1000.
Anyone familiar with bringer over a drone from Hong Kong? Someone I know is going there and is willing to bring me one back - looking at the Mavic Pro specifically. Prices quite a bit better there than here, just not sure on import tax etc?
