Quadcopter/Drone Thread

unboxing your Mavic is half the fun, they really go all out with packaging, that being said, give it in a plastic bag and drop the price rather.

Just had my first crash, pressed return to home, but it was off with a good 8 meters
I was irresponsible, flying when my remote clearly stated radio interference.

Worst part. I forgot to record...

Honestly, I never use the RTH while flying, I prefer to do it manually, landing too. I have it setup obviously for loss of connection etc, but I feel manual fly time will just improve my flying skills...

On another note, I did the .1000 update, everything seems fine so far.

Hi Guys

I recently got a DJI Phantom 3 Standard. Only took it out for 2 quick flights because my phone decided he had enough of me :( and now I can't fly.

I was wondering if you can kill motors while in mid air? Not intentionally of cause...

Yip, you can kill the motors by pressing the 2 analog sticks either diagonally down and out, or diagonally down and inwards. Check your manual, it's called the Combination Stick Command (CSC)

my syma's x5c one motor died recently, I think the dust began to affect it flying near a minedump a lot....

replacement R70 , back in the air now, definetly getting better at piloting without all these fancy add ons,

like driving a non power steering car vs one with power steering.

Do you have some video's

Just FYI.
I bought a cheapy JJRC H12C drone, thought I could take some video....but you can't really.
It's still fun to muck around with though.

Excuse the random music track, I had to overwrite the horrible recorded sound.

Did you buy the bigger battery? I won the Syma X5C-1, but it seems the battery don't last that long, but takes log to charge...

Does anyone know where I can find DJI Phantom 3 Standard ND Filters locally please.

Brought a bigger battery for my syma, it can take up to 500mah,
Also possible to get a wifi camera that works with a phone though,

Great little drone, although can be handful sometimes.

Getting my little Sparky in a day or so. A friend is bringing it in from the USA. Got a good deal, fly more combo + 3rd battery for roughly R9.5k. got a free pack of 3 Polar Pro ND filters as well!

Bring a set down for me too :(

My Spark did a disappearing act. Just started flying away with no input from the control whatsoever.

I've been reading about that a bit. If I'm not mistaken it has something to do with the compass calibration?

Were you using the controller or a phone?
