Quadcopter/Drone Thread

Ordered from Outdoor Photo. Not going to bother with the import route, keeping it local this time round. Don't feel like the stress etc, should arrive next week

Haha. Ok thanks man. Hope your new "baby" arrives soon.

Maybe worth doing
Don’t think dji ship to SA, so will have to use a freight forwarding service

The mavic air flymore combo is 20k here

It’s 999usd, so roughly 12k
Shipping with DHL express 1,5k (guesstimate)
Customs and clearance - dunno ?2k

My only concern would be the warranty- I’m not sure if the warranty is held by dji - international warranty or by the local distributor.

Suppose we fix etc. would be able to do repairs locally.

Any ideas
One of my friends bought his Mavic pro directly from Dji. They say it's an international warranty. But he has no idea who to go to if something were to happen.

DJI support told me the same, they say even the DJI refresh care policy will be honored locally.

I have a 1 year old DJI Mavic Pro Flymore Combo with 1H:12m flight time over 10 flights only (sad to say I just don't get round to using it). Additional stuff with it; Polarpro 3 pack filters, extended feet (two sets) and gimbal shaded hood (two). Also its got a green vinyl skin on it so under its in perfect condition (have the template for cutting new skins too).... Open to proper reasonable offers. PM me...

The Mavic Air is really what the Spark should've been. Excited to see what they have planned for the Mavic Pro 2

Once bitten, twice shy. Even though I have a Mavic Air on order, perhaps the upcoming Mavic Pro II is a better option, especially if you want camera quality with a one-inch sensor, a la Phantom 4 Pro.

I bought my Mavic Pro in September, knowing that they're probably already making the Pro 2. I don't regret it one bit to be honest, you can always hold on and wait for the next iteration, it's an endless cycle.

I'm curious what you want to use it for if image quality is a concern?

Hehe. My only disappointment was buying the Spark five days before the Mavic Air was announced. Drone portability/size is my main requirement, with reasonable cam, I'm no longer into state-of-the-art video, so the aperture and ccd in the Mavic Air is more than adequate for my needs. But if you're doing pro shooting then the Phantom 4 cam is about as good as it gets in consumer drones, and the Mavic Pro II seems to have much the same in a far more portable package.

The Mavic Air will more than meet my needs. Hope to get it some time this coming week.
