Quadcopter/Drone Thread

Have you flown a drone before? They do have a beginner setting on it limiting the speed and height. It's pretty easy to fly since it's GPS locked
Only one of those indoor Parrots.

What's the camera like on the Air? It's my main reason for wanting one.

Stills are good. Not the best. Always better to take a screen grab from the hi res videos than actual photos. They have some great preset camera and drone moves which are great
And the stills? I'm not much of a video guy but I'm sure I'll come to appreciate it.

Fair enough. I'm thinking of getting this one https://www.adorama.com/djimacb.html - it seems to have everything that I'll need, unless I'm missing something? Three batteries should be enough, right?

You should be sorted. It's got the charging hub which is great to charge multiple batteries. But note they don't charge all at the same time. They charge one at a time in the hub. I got myself extra landing legs for take off off rough surfaces but it's not really necessary

Thanks. I’ve been watching a few reviews on YouTube and it seems like a solid device. I can’t see any reason to get the (first gen) Pro instead of the air.

Yeah I was also in the same boat. Deciding between the Spark and Mavic Pro. Then the Air was announced best decision I made in terms of compact size and camera

Trigger pulled. Ended up ordering the kit from Adorama for $876 instead of Amazon. Saved $50 on sales tax that way. :)

Yeah - saves me a couple hundred dollars though.

Plus I won't be able to crash it until then :p
True cash saved is the best option. Just go to a very open area and fly. I was pooped scared to fly over the ocean, but now i brave it

Seems like a nice "toy"

Damn - too late to cancel my Air order and start saving...

Too be honest you're much better off with the Air. Small drones go unnoticed compared to their bigger counterparts (which almost always grab attention). The Air is also so incredibly quiet! Helps when you don't have permits. ;)

You're right... I should definitely get both. :D
