I've been investigating some network architectures for online gaming and recently came across using VPNs for online gaming.
If you haven't heard about it, it's basically for games which have only LAN game service (no online) and play the game online. Tunngle and Hamachi seem to be very popular

Unfortunately I'm a console gamer (when I do game) and I'm unable to test these services on my computer. I'd like to ask any forum members who play games using VPN these following questions:
1- Which VPN service do you use?
2- What type of games do you play using VPN?
3- How is the lag compared to playing other games online?
4- Anything else interesting

Awe,

I can recommend Tunngle it's an absolute awesome program check my post here on how get started http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/460917-Tunngle-the-future-of-P2P-gaming-What-Read-Me-_?highlight=tunngle.

As for your questions:
1- Tunngle
2- FPS games mostly Far Cry 2 as each game you join has a user made map so each time it's more unique and awesome. Also play HoN, Killing Floor, DayZ, Team Fortress and ofcourse some COD4
3- Well I play with an 8ta modem and on Far Cry 2 it's smooth if I want to snipe one shot is a kill so no lag there, COD4 sometimes lags as it depends where the LAN server is located
4- Tunngle is great as it has a fully developed community. Each game has it's own room so you can chat to other users say you wish to join a game with only Death match you can request it. Of course if you have buddies that also want to play with you that's even better as they or you can host and then ping levels are at local speeds so you get <150ms.

Cheers
