I agree, I was a ******** - but at the time, I thought being honest was a good route to go, but then afterwards, "ignorance is bliss" also made sense.

No it's not Risa. Her gym is a bed and a man :) both of which she has now.

gdiza you did the right thing mate. maybe you didnt exactly do in the correct manner, but you did do the right thing.

if someone is midnight munching and packing on the kilos then they might not see it. takes a good friend with some real balls to come out with that.

dont listen to these other freaks that are flaming you... :D they probably midnight munchers themselves... haha! ;)
 
I think Gdiza did the right thing... It's clear her friends didn't tell her or were too afraid to. Maybe you telling her was what was needed to help her see where she is going.

Not to mention that along with obesity comes other health related issues, so in some weird way maybe you were/are "helping" her. ONE day, she wud thank you im sure.

But i guess you didnt tell her in the most tactful way lol....

just in the wrong manner

one thing I need to mention here, is that if she has an eating disorder, you could have done some SERIOUS damage... ( I got experience dealing with this) but you didnt mention anything about an eating disoder.... so ya...
 
The thing is, the question you asked has no good or easy answers. What was she supposed to say? Yes I'm trapped in a cycle of self-loathing and gorging which combined with my laziness has turned me into Godzilla?

That doesnt mean you were wrong to bring it up. As a friend, you were concerned for her well being - werent you? Yes, you could have phrased it kinder, and also the one thing woman hate is someone criticizing their appearance, seemingly especially weight. You hit the sorepoint of sorepoints. You may as well have told her no one loves her and she will die alone.

Still, its hard, if not impossible, to give constructive advice like that to someone who you know is 99% likely to get offended by it, especially if you are a little blunt about it.

I didn't say anything about eating or whatever, and I tried to be tactful, but in all honesty, how do you tell someone they are fat in a nice way? It's not really possible. :(

Call a apple a apple I guess.

You should have said "nice dress you're wearing there, it's a pity they didn't have it in your size" :)
 
and you know what... I post those kind of things to get feedback from people so I can be informed!

Many of them are tongue in cheek, so clearly you cant tell the difference,

Dude you taking this lank seriously...
