purchased a r50 one day thingy but my air time is still being deducted!!!!!!! what is going on?????? anyone please help......
Did you know? that in Sweeden they canreach speedss of up to 100 mbitps (12.5 mbytesps for downloading). Thanks to fiber optics
Has anyone on MTN been having slow download speeds (I'm talking 14kBps or approx 110kbps) lately. I'm in PTA east and have this problem as does a friend in Fourways.
Used R50 bolt for the first time afternoon on Wed 26th of May. It worked well at first. Had download speed of 151kBps until I hit the 120MB soft cap. Was thottled to 120kbps and that was fine until about 11pm when the line went dead. Couldnt get it to work so cancelled the balance of the bundle after downloading something like 520MB.
Switched back to conventional bundles @ 20 cents/meg and its been hell ever since.
Call MTN and I get stupid stories about "resetting my line" or that speeds are "dependent on the network in the area".
Suggestions anyone?

Clueless... Are you running at 3.6Mbps? You should get at least ~2.0Mbps; you're saying you're getting 900Kbps = ~ 110kB/s. If that's the speed, it's not that bad; be persistent, they'll resolve it eventually.
Was referring to 110 kilo bits per sec... as in 12kilobytes per sec or excruciatingly slow.
Bought another R50 bolt yesterday, loaded it, no change in speed. Let the bundle expire and now my system is back to normal and I'm able to surf at normal 3G speeds.
I suppose the lesson is that if the 24hour bolt isn't expired by the system, then the bandwidth throttle remains in place.
Ok MTN NEED TO REMOVE THIS SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
