One wonders why anyone would even begin to try to justify, or make excuses for, a R19-million pay package, in this case given to Reuben September, the CEO of that haven of mediocrity, Telkom.

Telkom should stop treading water and start bailing it.

With a salary like that, how many fiber cables could have been landed in South Africa! If Telkom can afford to pay such a salary (excluding the rest of the staff's) it goes to show they have no interest in serving the public, but only their own pockets while keeping us online with cranky old cable!

But hey, can't care much anymore! I'm waiting for Neotel to pull their finger out of their backsides and give me a damn Ethernet device so i can tell telkom to come pull their copper cable out completely!
