What is it with persons on this forum that like to turn simple requests into personal battles??
There is absolutely no reason at all for you to make remarks such as the one above. So please withdraw this remark as it contributes nothing to a genuine discussion on what works and what does not regarding managing windows updates.
It is not as simple as it is made out to be. If it was there would not be so many "complaints" about persons being faced with all sorts of things that happen in the back ground as illustrated by the comment about Office 13 simply "assuming" a user wants to also back up the Outlook.pst file to one drive. It should be a user choice.
And yes we are aware of the links you have posted, BUT we are equally aware that some users have found these settings are neither permanent, nor do they prevent updates from happening in all circumstances.
