No man...lol...Im just trying to figure something out here...thats all...In my family there is also pple married to diff "races"...Im trying to distinguish what is actually meant by "race"....
PS:..if i offended you, i appologise.....wasnt meant like that...

I would hesitate to guess that it is a classification given to a group of people to give them a sense of unity. i.e. Arian Race...

It has no deeper meaning and is rarely used for good.

PS: I am a very difficult person to offend don't worry :D

O Ok....that makes sence...no realy...If you think about it, this RACE business is realy confusing to me....If you look at the majority of ppl, they wiil ( most of the time that is ) get married within their "own"...ie English with English....Afr with Afr...zulu with zulu..etc etc...Know what i mean?

There's a reason for that - geography.
How could I have married a Mongolese woman when I had never set foot in Mongolia ?

That is no reason to not marry a Mongolese woman, you should have tried harded :D

Seriously though I think the majority of people do marry their own culture. It has nothing to do with race though. My wife is from a different country but was raised with the same type of culture that I was raised with.

I would not pay someone to marry their daughter as I find it grossly offensive. Different culture...

I would also have a major issue with my wife covering her head with a scarf all the time... again different culture.
 
Just my 2 cents worth after reading all the posts,

No matter what petty beaurocratic regulations require me to fill in a racial profiling document, in my heart and in my mind, i am African, i was born here, raised here and lived my life here to date, and if i ever left, i would still consider myself to be African.
No one will take that from me.

Any document that requires a race mark , constitutes racial profiling, and therefore can be deemed racist in nature. Any department/organisation that requires it is clearly condoning racial profiling, and racisim. :(

On the I.D. issue, i was issued originally with an id number ending in 005 (white), now my number ends in 088 (Citizen)

No, I am saying in general people stick to their own culture as they are more comfortable that way...

Same reason people normally die in the same city they where born in...

Our cultures have converged so very much in the past half century that I don't see any need for one to stick to their own culture anymore...
I've dated coloured and indian chicks before and they generally lived a sort of lifestyle that's not very different from mine.
I would have liked to date an afrikaaner chick but I never had the chance and now I'm married :)

Are you talking about a specific afrikaaner chick? Or are you talking about trying the afrikaans culture?

an "Afrikaner" is a type of Cow :D:p

U prob. meant an Afrikaans Chick ;) or "Boer" Chick
 
I have a question

If only fifty-something percent of white people, over the age of 35 or more, were in favor of apartheid, why now, do all white people, including white children or those under 35 years (2007-1990=17 + age of reason say, 18= 35) have to suffer through these profiling and BEE stuff.
Surely, you will not throw a person in jail for what their parents have done.
Anyone answer?
