RAIN 5G Gauteng NSA or SA thread

As far as I know - the roll out of software version V200R001C00SPC353 was to accommodate this change - might be that your CPE needs a firmware update

Something is wrong with your CPE. The fact that you lost 5G signal means tower is already on SA your CPE did not switch over. I tested it with my old Huawei H112-370 and it only gets 4G. Doesn't support SA 5G.

You might need to contact Rain to swap your CPE.

Have spoken to RAIN tech now. Apparently unit is capable of SA. However some units were not taking firmware. They are working on the issues currently and he asked that I log ticket.

Rain networks response -my download speed the same but my upload speed has decreased by 15-25mbs. NSA still shows as an option on the connected tower.SA3.jpg

Weird:
On NSA I only get a 4G connection.

My 5G is down since midnight. Was hoping it was a switchover to SA so I restarted the router.

Nope, still NSA but no 5G signal - guess it's just my tower with an issue :(

My 5G tower goes down during loadshedding and always had 4G as backup. Slow around 10Mbps or so but still good enough to do something. What happens now on SA 5G?
Good point you making. There will be downtime if something happens to 5G

That sounds like a CPE issue.

I also had no 5G on NSA, and changed to auto and it connected with SA now I only have 5G. Try it maybe it works.

Firmware updated to V200R001C00SPC353 though, wouldn't it only be a router issue when it rejects the firmware update and stays on the old one ?
Please PM me your details, will get someone to investigate and resolve

You should never see both 5G and 4G lights on at the same time, it now defines which network you are on, so 4G light means you are on 4G only or 5G means you are on 5G only (SA) - should never see both lights.

Thank you sooo much ! Just changed went to Internet -> Network and it to Auto.

Running perfectly on SA now. My upload speed went up a bit too, at 80Mbps instead of 50-60Mbps and still a good 250-300Mbps down.

Awesome, if you are in decent radio conditions then you can expect improvement when using SA. Please let us know how stable it is, from what we see its a big improvement! Let me know if you need anything else

Looks like the change was made at 2pm last night.

I can not connect on NSA any more.

will test out properly tonight with gaming & streaming, right now working so not stressing much... just glad there is no downtime now...

Also on SA now. In Honeydew.

Internet went down and when it came back on I was surprised to see SA and then I came here and saw this thread.

Download speeds are currently slower. May be my wifi though. Will have to test on ethernet a bit later. Upload speeds are much better for me though.

Actually I hope they are busy testing here by me currently because after it switched to SA my internet keeps dropping and reconnecting.

Also my signal quality is fluctuating like crazy.
