Rain 5G users - Please do a MyBroadband speed test

YMMV as with most Fixed/ LTE services.

I advise you to spend time on the forum doing research and reading the many threads about people's experience with Rain 5G (both good and some awful ) to date.

Plenty to digest... don't make a very costly , impulsive decision that you can't get out of ( 24 month contract)

Has anybody been facing issues with their 5G?

since last thursday my 4 & 5G has been down on my 5G router. however, at 6pm at night i seem to get connection again until around 11pm then i get a "no service". Had 5G since November with 600 down and 50 up until Thursday when everything went south.

According to rain nothing is wrong. told me to do the usual resets, relocate the router etc with no help. They even told me that i provided an address where the 5G router is not present? like who would do that.

Every Support call i log i have to give them the address cause the use this to search for the towers you are connected to :) and then check the tower they will.

Not sure what device you have but there are settings in back-end that relate to a reset time or something. Have also had a few instances when this has happened and thought it might have something to do with those settings. Have not had time to test. Huawei not the best with manuals/info figuring out what everything does is frustrating.

Yeah so I ended up getting the 5G. Internet works after configuring it for almost 2 hours. Facing an optimization issue from their website to determine my speed, anyone experienced this?
I've been communicating with their customer support and they've been quite helpful with other topics related and they've escalated this current issue I'm facing to their customer support, only now I'm waiting for their response. Network kinda fluctuates between 4G & 5G. Activation was today and 12 minutes after I got it delivered. Ordered yesterday.

Optimizer does not take into account lay of the land/antennae height. What speeds are you getting?

Ouch. I suspect you have indoor unit. Get them to come in and install ODU (out door unit).

Yes that's what I have at the moment. Will that cost any extra?

How does getting ODU work if you don't mind elaborating from your experience?

So woke up to a slight increase from yesterday. Still low but it's something.

Just an equipment swap. There are two ODU's. Standard external ODU + internal Q2 WiFi base station and the Hybrid external ODU which has built in WiFi. Depending on what they give you both have one ethernet cable running into a PoE, so setup is a breeze.

ODU being outdoors has more reach so signal should improve quite a bit.
