Thank you @mrlgm007

I think my stats are similar but only getting around 100mbps.
I am on the edge of the coverage though.

Testing via Lan or wifi ?

I posted in another thread with the difference between 2.4G ,5g , and lan.
Testing via LAN on a Gigabit network.
Will see if I rotate the CPE if it makes a difference.
I certainly think that I am on the edge of the coverage and that is the issue.

Got my LAN cable today but it's still slow. Spoke with Rain today and engineering team is looking up on it?

I don't know what else to do now, yet.

Its been a long three months but glad I stuck it out. Holding thumbs it stays like this. Even at half these speeds will be happy. Touched 500Mbps briefly even in overcast conditions with storm brewing.

For context I am on the ragged edge of @rain_mobile coverage which seems to have changed slightly from the last time I checked. Have put a lot of work into my setup which is finally paying off. Tower happens to be the same one I have been connecting to all this time. Can only think that they have been optimizing.

Some amazing speeds. I am also on the edge of the coverage but received only around 30mbps with the indoor unit. So I hope that the new towers going live soon might change that

If for whatever reason I'm in a non 5G network, does it connect to the 4G network and give me those speeds?

Rain 5G simcards only connect to LTE Band 3 with network id of 65573. The network ID 65573 only gets broadcasted from 5G towers. If you do not get 65573 then there will be no service. If you do catch 65573 4G then it will only Band 3 meaning if you get 10Mbps you will be lucky as that band is shared by 65573 Rain 5G users, Rain Mobile, Rain Fixed LTE, Vodacom roaming.

Was enjoying Rain 5G. No issues. In the past week or so, they have dropped their signal strength or something. Where I used to pickup good signal, it's now weak or non existent. The 5G continuosly connects and disconnects.

Wait wasn't your connection stable at like 300mbps? Or were you having issues the whole time?

Around 250 for about 2 weeks then it really went to ****. Has been stable "fingers crossed" for 4 days now.

By the looks of the map you shared looks like the tower might have gone down.

I'm investigating but I believe the Cell ID show is the Cell ID for the 4G part of the connection and not the 5G and that the router could be using 4G and 5G from different towers so basically 4G from tower A close to you but that 5G is down on that tower so it's using 5G from tower B.

I looked at your posts and when signal NR dropped it was using another tower no doubt but the 4G part of your closest tower could have been unaffected so you think you are on the same tower but actually not.

@cavedog Hey bro. What do you think caused my 5G RSRP to go from -95dBm to -100+dBm over a matter of days? Max speed went from 360mbps to 200mbps and I suspect it's only going to get worse... sigh...

Could be a number of reasons. Sector antenna failed. Tower down and you actually picking up another tower. Hard to say

So what's the best way to get a techie to come investigate. Through their online support?
