My Internet /5G experience.
I stay where there is now no ADSL and lots of tall tress LTE works well no Fiber and been useing the Rain 4g uncapped for a while and a MTN LTE and 10mb ADSL then 4mb then 2mb then back to 10 and stolen 4 times with in 4 months.
Then i was out for 3 weeks just useing the Rain LTE and everything has been fine save the downloads in Netflix and then 5G started and its was just out of cover.
Checking that map every 2nd day then found where to see the version of the map Debugging lol.
Spoke to the wife and was going to pay the R3450 for the router and give it a try then Black Thursday hit.
Could not sleep on the Wenesday night thanks to
@cavedog share the news that it will be out soon.
Woke up at 4am Thursday and jumped the gun and i ordered it.
Friday came and Bobs your uncle Ram calls me at 7:30 we will be there before 8am and spot on 7:50 I had the router in my hands.
Left work at 15:00 on Friday got home and fetched the Kid home at 15:40 quickest ever and then the router was out and was trying to find a spot 5 hours later that was it Logged a call with Rain and spoke to them twice took pics and sent them a a mail Ordered pizza and relaxed and mind started to turn.
Saturday morning up at 4 am again this time i am out side trying it out finding a position some where to get this thing going 10am Kid is now up and wife was like WTF
Then issue with Rain 4G so i just put them on MTN and went back out side.
Went and took my 2 NAS boxs's out of the 4U Cab rigged up some fans in the box put the router in the box about 6 places and then i found the spot and i activated it and for 2 days it was R57 and they took it same night as the 4g bill.
Moved the router in and out few times after that and useing it full time speed went between 4 mb and 200mb with 1mb to 1.8mb upload was up and down but was working.
Followed up on Monday they confirmed at 1 am that some one would come to site on Tuesday at 9am they called at 8:50 saying they running late and will be there soon.
Called again at 9:20 he is 5 min out Perfect service no issues.
9:30 the guy from rain got here and let him in and had a good chat about the 5g did some tests was spot on not even 10 min later we got the external unit on the roof and we chatting about it
Setting it up connected it and was bang 600 Down and 30 Up he ran a few more tests and advised they had a team working on the tower yesterday as i Monday night we where getting 200 Down and 1 up and worked well as played games till 2am lol.
Chatted a little more and ran some tests JHB , CT , and was happy and said that i needed to sign for the unit and off he went here i had a External unit on the roof and the NET IS FLYING !!!!
Got the Drill out and mounted it and yes it not the best spot but its working like a Dream.
Had a good LOL as well now my Internet is faster than my WIFI and i am running aruba 205's lol.
