Rain and storm for Cpt

awesome fun this morning coming into work on my jetski, somerset west --> Cape Town 1hr.
Normally people here drive like idiots when it rains but for some reason everyone was driving slooooooow, at one time in the middle of nowhere i was doing 55km/h in the slow lane :ROFL:

That should be the maximum speed for ALL bikers in ANY lane.

LOL Yeah i took it nice and slow, filtering through traffic about 5-10km/h faster than what cars were going.
just feels safer
bikers behind me were getting annoyed :laugh::ROFL:

The SAWS rainfall report for the 24 hours to 8am on Mon 20th makes for interesting reading: http://www.weathersa.co.za/images/data/climate/nr_daily_rai.pdf

Highest include Kirstenbosch 86mm, Jonkershoek 53mm, Villiersdorp 47mm, Grabouw 43mm, Strand 41mm, Ceres 36mm, Franschhoek 33mm, Paarl 33mm, Wellington 32mm, Cape Town (airport) 28mm, Malmesbury 24mm, etc. Other areas received significantly less rainfall, though some did fall further east after 8am.

Edit: The SAEON Dwarsberg mountain catchment recorded an incredible 112mm yesterday (in addition to the 23mm on Sunday), that is a lot of orographic rain!

great to hear Villiersdorp got 47mm.
That will help saturate the soil and if we do get more rain very soon that rain will just run straight into the dam.

Saw the same thing last year, every weekend i was out there and saw nothing happen with dam level until we had 1 hard rain where the soil became saturated. A few days later it snowed, when that snow started melting 5 days later the dam level increased a massive amount over the next 2 weeks :thumbsup:
 
yup i hit a trickle on the N2 incoming this morning, not much but every drop helps saturate the soil
