Happens every year (I'm in Kenilworth). The only difference is how close the smoke lingers to the ground, depending on the wind and weather.

Edit: Quite a late start to the fire season this year, with protracted rains until the middle of December.

No. A controlled burn inside the Racecourse is scheduled for April, but never when the wind is blowing.

Earlier in the week the outlook for Sun 16th was good, but the chances of rain keep diminishing. Should be a bit cooler though.

After a long dry spell, a little drizzle brings up the oil and makes the road extra slippery. Also hard to see anything if your car is dirty from the SE wind.
