Okay thanks... Luckily all the brick work is done.. just need to do plastering, and electrical which can all wait i suppose.

double story and my bedroom is downstairs :) but i will be enjoying the sounds of the rain on the flat tin roof
and yes i will be super drunk as usual when i hit the hay :thumbsup:

From around 04:00 the winds will be picking up to around 34km/h - from around 06:00 they'll be gusting at 70km/h

Agreed, gonna see if I can crack a decent trip to Deer Park, about an hour or so. Don't mind the rain, but dammit, hate the wind.

Last few weekends I've had some really good in the dark & rain runs at the forest. When u soaked all the way through and just relax into it...yeah. Love being up there alone with nature doing its thing.
 
Pretty weird conditions ahead of the front. Woken at 1.45am by warm blustery northerly berg winds. Edit: The 2am aviation weather report (CT Metar) indicates a temperature of 18C! See: https://aviation.weathersa.co.za/#showMetars

My 50 year-old barometer has been dropping steadily for the last 12 hours, which is a sure sign of an impending storm. The SAWS synoptic chart shows a coastal low ahead of the main front, which is only likely to make landfall mid-morning: https://www.weathersa.co.za/images/data/specialised/ma_sy.gif

Wind has picked up markedly, strong gusts , knocked my succulent over square onto its side ( for 3rd time this winter) so brought it inside... snapped a few large branches.


Again a definite warm Berg like feel to wind.. almost hot on the face.
Won't be like this for long tho...
