Whats the outlook for rain after this week Gordon? Is this the big winter rains, or can we expect more over the next few weeksWe have definitely had more rain than I expected, based on the model predictions! Quite showery episodes, but torrential when it comes down. I recorded about 45mm in our gauge here in Kenilworth this morning.
The SAEON Dwarsberg (Jonkershoek) mountain catchment station recorded 43mm up to midnight, and plenty more early this morning. Further rain is expected throughout today (and during the week).
The downpour has produced a moderate inflow (25m^3/sec) into the Berg River Dam, which had been in gradual decline during the dry spell of the last two weeks. The level has increased by 0.5% to 97.5% this morning (Sun 9th).
