The next cold-front on Sat 15th will bring limited amounts of rain (and some snow) to the SW-Cape, but will produce extremely cold temperatures across almost the entire country by Sun 16th:

Just recorded 21mm in our gauge in Kenilworth, and observed waterfalls on Table Mountain again. Not much more rain is likely in the immediate future, but very cold and gloomy conditions will persist. Light snow is expected on the mountains over a widespread area this afternoon (Sat 15th).

The inflow into the Berg River dam is again above 30m^3/sec. This dam is already 101% full, so runoff is not necessarily significant, but it does serve as a proxy for other catchment areas: http://www.dwa.gov.za/Hydrology/Unverified/RTGraph.aspx?Station=G1H076FW&Type=Flow&Rain=N

The average dam levels for the Cape Metro have already risen by 2.2% since Tues 11th to 82.6% on Fri 14th: http://www.capetown.gov.za/Family a...and-sanitation-services/this-weeks-dam-levels

looking out the window here the Lourensford River in Somerset West is full @Captain Beer

After last night's deluge I'm sure. I was on the road at 5:00 this morning to meet my booze smokkelaar and was full of righteous anger at the fact that most people were still in bed during that madness.

To braai or not to braai?

Still **** cold though. It'll have to be a sausage braai, but holding thumbs that Cyril will tell us tonight that we can now afford lamb tjoppies again.

Don't forget about us peasants hey, we'd like to see some pictures of the dam, I believe it's over 80% full currently.

the weird thing is our 6 major dams are only 0.3% higher than the same time last year.
Why does it feel like we have had so much rain this season?

The heavens just opened here....and G-d said

"Let it Rain...!"

( so did Phil Collins...)
